OVERVIEW OF HOW YAHOO WORKS VS OTHER DFS PLATFORMS:

I have been playing daily fantasy since 2013, mainly on DraftKings and FanDuel. But in recent years, I have added playing more on SuperDraft and Yahoo Daily Fantasy. The biggest benefit to playing Yahoo DFS is the pricing can be a little softer or easier to identify values, which then lets you pay up for the studs on the slate.

Scoring is very similar to Fanduel as it is .5 point per reception or half-point PPR. You will draft 10 positions in your lineup. This includes:

1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 DST

Note:  The Rams/Chargers is off the slate and the Steelers/Ravens (Sunday Night Game) is on the slate.

QUARTERBACKS

STUDS:

  • Justin Fields ($41) – Fields put up a monster performance last time against the Lions. He also looks to break Lamar Jackson’s single-season QB rushing record.
  • Patrick Mahomes ($37) – Always potential for QB1.
  • Jared Goff ($30) – Home game/indoors and against a weak Bears defense. Great price!
  • Gardner Minshew ($29) – Minshew put up a great fantasy game and was the QB in the winning SuperDraft lineup last week. His price is up, but that’s still solid considering his weapons. Also, an Eagles win locks up the NFC East and the #1 seed in the NFC, so a lot of motivation.
  • Carson Wentz ($23) – Wentz is back for the Commanders, who need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Almost min. QB price on Yahoo.
  • Others – Daniel Jones ($30), Kirk Cousins ($29), Mike White ($29), Aaron Rodgers ($27), Kenny Pickett ($21)

RUNNING BACKS

STUDS:

  • Christian McCaffery ($35) – CMC is coming off one of his lower fantasy outings last week. But this offense still runs through CMC.
  • Saquon Barkley ($29) – Barkley has 18 combined targets in the last two games and keeps getting fed a big workload.
  • Brian Robinson ($22) – Antonio Gibson is out, which means Robinson should carry even more of the workload in a great matchup against the Browns’ run defense.
  • Tyler Allgeier ($20) – He has 17+ rush attempts in the last two games and should be playing from a positive game script against the depleted Cardinals.
  • Raheem Mostert ($14)With Tua out, the Dolphins may need to lean on the run game more. This price is too cheap for Mostert.
  • Others –Rhamondre Stevenson ($27), Miles Sanders ($25), Nick Chubb ($25), JK Dobbins ($24), James Conner ($23), Aaron Jones ($23)

VALUES:

  • Najee Harris ($20)
  • AJ Dillon ($20)
  • Jerick McKinnon ($17)
  • Zach Moss ($16)
  • Leonard Fournette ($14)

WIDE RECEIVERS

STUDS:

  • Choose your favorite Stud(s) – all these alpha receivers are in great spots to put up a ceiling performance. I’ll have at least one of these receivers in my lineups.
  • Justin Jefferson ($36)
  • Tyreek Hill ($34)
  • AJ Brown ($33)
  • Others to consider or stack:
    • Amon-Ra St. Brown ($25) – All the volume is still there for ASB to have a monster game.
    • Christian Watson ($21) and Allen Lazard ($15) – Both are way too cheap playing against the weak Vikings’ pass defense.
    • Christian Kirk ($17) – Great buy low spot for Kirk against the Texans’ defense.
    • Garrett Wilson ($16) –  QB Mike White is back, which makes Wilson an excellent play at this price in a must-win game for the Jets.
    • Others:  Jaylen Waddle ($25), DeVonta Smith ($23), DK Metcalf ($21), Jerry Jeudy ($20) Chris Godwin ($21), Tyler Lockett – Q ($21), Terry McLaurin ($21)
  • Values:
  • JuJu Smith-Schuster ($17)
  • Jahan Dotson ($17)
  • George Pickens ($16)
  • DJ Moore ($16)
  • Drake London ($16)
  • Isiah Hodgins ($15)
  • DJ Chark ($15)
  • Zay Jones ($14)
  • Adam Thielen ($13)
  • Rasheed Shaheed ($13)
  • Elijah Moore ($10)
  • Greg Dortch ($10)

Note:  This is an excellent place to look for correlation and stack at least one wide receiver with your quarterback.

TIGHT ENDS

STUDS:

  • Travis Kelce ($35) – Always TE1, but very expensive.
  • TJ Hockenson ($22) – Hockenson exploded last week and there’s no reason he can’t do it again this week.
  • George Kittle ($20) – With Samuel still out, Kittle has gone off with 4 TDs in the last two weeks.

VALUES:

  • Mark Andrews ($21)
  • Evan Engram ($19)
  • Dallas Goedert ($18)
  • Cole Kmet ($17)
  • Darren Waller ($17)
  • David Njoku ($15)
  • Jelani Woods ($11)

FLEX

  •  Try to target a player in a high total game to stack up for more correlation or a player with an extreme multiplier in a good spot. Either way, try to target a player that has a good chance to reach their 100-yard bonus and find the endzone.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Each week, I will examine the winning lineups in the large Yahoo tournament to see what strategies worked. Every season can have its own nuances, so we’ll track data to make sure we have an edge on the field.

So be sure to check back every Friday for my Yahoo DFS preview. And make sure to check back on Sunday to see where the experts are at — CORE PLAYS
