OVERVIEW OF HOW YAHOO WORKS VS OTHER DFS PLATFORMS:

I have been playing daily fantasy since 2013, mainly on DraftKings and FanDuel. But in recent years, I have added playing more on SuperDraft and Yahoo Daily Fantasy. The biggest benefit to playing Yahoo DFS is the pricing can be a little softer or easier to identify values, which then lets you pay up for the studs on the slate.

Scoring is very similar to Fanduel as it is .5 point per reception or half-point PPR. You will draft 10 positions in your lineup. This includes:

1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 DST

QUARTERBACKS

STUDS:

  • Jalen Hurts, $39 – On a slate that lacks top-end QB plays, Hurts is by far the best floor/ceiling combo of all the QBs.
  • Tua Tagovailoa, $34 – Another high total game we want to target and opponent (Lions) we want to target.
  • Kirk Cousins, $28 – Great game environment for Cousins at home, during the DAY, and in a high total game.
  • Others – Kyler Murray – $33, Dak Prescott – $30, Derek Carr – $28, Taylor Heinicke – $22, Sam Ehlinger – $20

RUNNING BACKS

STUDS:

  • Derrick Henry, $40 – Just an absolute smash spot for Henry against the Texans run defense that has been very giving this season to RBs.
  • Josh Jacobs, $29 – Jacobs has been playing on another level this season and being fed tons of carries and some targets.
  • Kenneth Walker III, $25 – Walker has had 20+ attempts in the last three games and made the most of his opportunities.
  • Tony Pollard, $17 – Zeke is doubtful, which makes Pollard an amazing option getting the full workload against the Bears’ defense.
  • Others – Christian McCaffery – $33, Saquon Barkley – $39, Alvin Kamara – $26

VALUES:

  • Rhamondre Stevenson – $23
  • Raheem Mostert – $21
  • Eno Benjamin – $20
  • DOnta Foreman – $19

WIDE RECEIVERS

STUDS:

    • Choose your favorite Stud(s) all these alpha receivers are in great spots to put up a ceiling performance. I’ll have at least one, if not two of these receivers in my lineups.
    • Cooper Kupp – $38
    • Justin Jefferson – $34
    • Tyreek Hill – $34
    • Davante Adams (Q) – $31
    • Deandre Hopkins – $27
    • AJ Brown – $27
    • Others to consider or stack:
      • Amon-Ra St. Brown, $29- He broke our hearts last week when he left in the 1st Qtr, but I’m going right back to ASB in a high total game against the Dolphins where they will most likely passing often.
      • CeeDee Lamb, $20 – Lamb didn’t get there last week in Prescott’s first week back. But he has a nice matchup against the Bears’ defense and I’m interested in going right back. Also interesting ownership leverage off of Tony Pollard.
      • DJ Moore, $17- This feels gross with PJ Walker as his QB. But Moore did well last week and now has a match-up against the Falcons at a good price.
    • Others to consider or stack: Jaylen Waddle – $25, Chris Olave – $22

Note:  This is an excellent place to look for correlation and stack at least one wide receiver with your quarterback.

VALUES:

  • Tyler Lockett (Q) – $18
  • Terry McLaurin – $17
  • Adam Thielen – $16
  • George Pickens – $15
  • Marquise Goodwin – $15

TIGHT ENDS

STUDS:

  • Dallas Goedert, $20 – Great stack with Hurts and getting a good amount of targets.
  • George Kittle, $17 – There are no expensive TEs on the slate, and this is a great price for Kittle. The 49ers will be without Deebo Samuel, which could funnel more targets Kittle’s way.

VALUES:

  • Irv Smith – $15
  • Tyler Higbee – $15
  • Pat Friermuth – $16
  • Dalton Schultz (Q) – $14
  • Foster Moreau – $10
  • Logan Thomas (Q) – $14
  • Juwan Johnson (Q) – $12

FLEX

  •  Try to target a player in a high total game to stack up for more correlation or a player with an extreme multiplier in a good spot. Either way, try to target a player that has a good chance to reach their 100-yard bonus and find the endzone.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Each week, I will examine the winning lineups in the large Yahoo tournament to see what strategies worked. Every season can have its own nuances, so we’ll track data to make sure we have an edge on the field.
