DC Defenders @ Vegas Vipers

The Defenders snuck out a win at home last week against the Sea Dragons, but they have a much tougher battle in front of them this week, visiting Vegas.
The Defenders are living up to their name, as the defense carried them last week, as they made light work of Ben DiNucci, sacking him twice and intercepting him twice. However, the offense has much to improve on, as Jordan Ta’amu could only find 86 yards in completing 8 of his 19 passes.
DC relied heavily on the running game, but that didn’t see much success either. Five players saw rushing attempts and could only manage 84 yards on 33 carries. Ryquell Armstead was the only player to break a double-digit run.

The Vipers had a disappointing start to their season with a visit to Arlington. Vegas played in the high scoring game on the slate, but they were outmatched 20-22.
Despite losing, Vegas’ quarterback, Luis Perez, was one of the standouts from Week 1. Perez threw for 249 yards, completed 61 percent of his passes, and found the endzone three times. The Defenders have their work cut out for them this week.
Hopefully, having some tape of Perez will help DC, but seeing how terrible their offense was, it will be extremely difficult for them to keep pace with the Vipers. Playing at home, Vegas should pick up their first win of the season.
Vegas -3.5 (-105)
The unders were not kind to bettors last week, and with totals pushed up this week, it makes for another tough call. Vegas will put up points, but it’s hard to say if DC will do their part to help the over. Hopefully, Reggie Barlow fixed up the offense; if they can just manage 13 points, it should cash.
