Last weekend in Detroit, the Gamblers crushed the Philadelphia Stars with a final score of 41-16. Although Houston’s offense struggled in Week 1, only scoring 13 points in a loss against Michigan, they have bounced back with three consecutive games of 30 or more points.

The Stallions had a close victory over the Pittsburgh Maulers 24-20 during Week 4. However, they have failed to cover the spread for two consecutive games after starting the season 2-0, straight-up and against the spread.

So while the Gamblers have scored 30 or more points in three consecutive games, they have also conceded 26 or more in three of their four matches. As a result, the upcoming game in Birmingham has the potential to turn into an exciting shootout where the underdog will prevail.

The game should be the pinnacle of Week 5.

New Orleans boasts the most outstanding passing offense in the league, with McLeod Bethel-Thompson delivering accurate throws all over the field this season, leading the USFL with 1,116 passing yards. If that’s not enough, Wes Hills also leads the league in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.

However, the Showboats’ offense has consistently progressed through the air, especially with Cole Kelley assuming the QB role over the last few weeks in place of Brady White. As a result, both teams should record scores in the twenties, leading to an over.

Memphis still needs to demonstrate more consistency to prove they can win, but they should be able to handle this large spread.

Memphis +7 (-110)
Over 47.5 (-110)
