Murray (-610) V. Nava (+440)

Andy Murry is one of five players left in this tournament that has won a Grand Slam, but Murray hasn’t made so much as a quarterfinal since 2017. With the money these guys make, it’s understandable why he’s still playing, but I am surprised whenever I see his name in the draw.

Fun fact for bettors Emilio Nava was three when Andy Murry made his first US Open appearance.

This is Nava’s second Grand Slam appearance and second US Open; he’s already topped last year’s performance by making it out of the first round. As a rising stud in the game, Nava will give Murry a hard day’s work, and while an upset isn’t out of the question, it’s not the smart play.

Over 35.5 Games (-125) & Both Players to Win a Set (-132)

Galan (+110) V. Thompson (-132)

After beating my dark horse in the first round, I have no choice but to make Daniel Elahi Galan my new favorite tennis player. After cruising through the qualifier, Galan knocked out Tsitsipas in four sets. He now faces Jordan Thompson, the Cam Smith of Tennis.

Thompson had an exciting first-round match. After dropping the first two sets against Lorenzo Sonego, Thompson rallied back and took the next three. This is Thompson’s seventh US Open, and he’s made it out of the second round just once. So it’s unfortunate he has to play a red hot Galan.

Nobody expected either of these players to make it out of the first round, but here they are. Galan should be excited about the road he hijacked from Tsitsipas, even with Thompson being a hard-court player. Bettors should expect Galan to struggle early but find his groove and take the match.

Daniel Elahi Galan to Win the Match (+110) & Jordan Thompson to Win the First Set (-106)
