THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL SHOWDOWN: PATRIOTS AT STEELERS

Patriots (12.5) AT Steelers (18)

QB

We have seen some dusty primetime games but this looks to take the cake. Bailey Zappe looks to be getting another start here vs a solid Steelers defense on a short week. Zappe is a borderline NFL quarterback talent and will be in a difficult situation tonight. The fact that Rhamondre Stevenson is trending towards being out tonight only hurts Zappe even more. I will be projecting Zappe for around 7-9 points and see where he falls in the Flex spot. Bailey has a pass prop of 156.5 yards.

Mitch Trubisky will fill in for the injured Pickett tonight and is priced at 9.2K. I would much rather roster Trubisky tonight vs Zappe but will not actively look to play him. Trubisky got a few spot starts last year vs Cleveland, New England, and Cincinnati and scored in the 12-14 DK point range in all 3 games. I will project Mitch for around 12-13 points and see where he lands. Trubisky has a pass prop of 180.5 yards.

RB

Without Stevenson, the Pats will be forced to lean on Zeke here at 9.4K. I am not looking forward to rostering Zeke at 9.4K but he has some of the best raw points upside on the slate. Zeke has been active in the passing game this season catching at least 2 passes in the last 4 games and catching 4 for 40 yards last week. Pittsburgh has allowed RBs to score 20+ DK points in 5 of the last 7 games so this presents a good matchup for Zeke. Ty Montgomery is priced at 2.6K and is a guy I want to look into more as the day goes on. Zeke has a rush/rec prop of 80.5 yards and is +205 to score a touchdown.

Jaylen Warren has been a guy I have targeted at times this year for a value RB. Warren is priced at 8K $400 cheaper than teammate Najee Harris. Warren has the game-breaking speed and upside I want for showdown. Jaylen has caught at least one pass in every game this year. Warren is averaging over 6 yards per carry in 4 of the last 5 games. I will be looking to roster both RBs on this slate and will mix both into the Captain position. Harris has 12+ carries in 12 of the last 13 games and should once again see this solid role. Harris is the goal-line RB and has 3 touchdowns in the last 5 games. Rush/rec props for Warren is 60.5 yards and Harris has a 59.5 rush prop. Warren is a +145 fav to score a touchdown and Harris sits at +155.

WR

DeVante Parker 5.6K has been the favorite option of Zappe getting 11 targets with 9 coming last week. If Pop Douglas is not able to return Parker should once again lead the team. The Steelers are in the top 10 for most yards allowed to the WR position. Parker did flash upside a couple of times last year and will be a guy I look to get overweight on tomorrow and will sprinkle him in the Captain spot. It gets rough looking at JuJu Smith-Schuster who has only scored more than 7 DK points once this season. Tyquan Thornton 3.4K would be another guy asked to step up if Douglas is out. He is also a tough click scoring 3 and 4 DK points in the last 2 games. The receiving yard prop for Parker is 36.5 yards and is +500 to score a touchdown.

On the Steelers side, we have George Pickens priced at 10K flat and Diotae Johnson at 9.8K. Pickens has the upside and would be my preferred Captain option but will still sprinkle some Johnson in as well. Pickens caught 4 passes for 86 yards last week and posted a few big games early in the year. Diontae is a possession receiver at best as he caught a late touchdown last week to bail him out from a 4th straight single-digit day. I would rather use him in the Flex to grab some raw points. Allen Robinson caught 3 passes last week and is a viable cheapie. Calvin Austin is a GPP punt flex option at best. Receiving props are Pickens at 38.5, Johnson at 42.5, and Robinson at 11.5 yards. Both Pickens and Johnson are +320 to score a touchdown.

TE

Hunter Henry has a 5.2K tag tonight and should be a guy Zappe looks to for some easy completions. Henry has caught 2+ passes in 5 of the last 6 games. I will be looking to get overweight on Henry in the Flex spot for raw point equity. Gesicki 1.2K has only registered a fantasy point in 1 of the last 4 games and is a dart throw at best. Henry has a prop of 23.5 yards and is +600 to score.

Pat Freiermuth 7.4K is a mid-range target I will lean on for raw points. Pat caught 3 passes for 29 yards last week after a monster 24 DK point game vs Cincy the week before. I will be projecting around 7-8 DK points and see where he lands at and could even have a sprinkle of him in the Captain spot. Pat has a prop of 27.5 yards and is +340 to score a touchdown.

DEF/K

With 2 bad quarterbacks and a low total of 30 points, we could see these defenses and kickers be optimal. Trubisky threw an interception vs this Pats team last year and two to the Jaguars about a month ago. Zappe has thrown an interception in 2 of the last 3 games and was sacked 5 times last week. The Steelers’ defense is priced at 6.6K but has scored double-digit points 5 times this year and I will project them for 10 points tonight. The Pats’ defense is priced at 5K flat and has allowed 10 points or less in the last 3 games. I will project them for 7 points and see where they land at. Boswell is priced at 5.4K and Ryland at 4.6K. I would rather roster Bowell but will have both in the pool and I think you can even play 3 of the 4 on a team.

SNYDER MAIN CORE

Jaylen Warren (CAPT) + Pat Freiermuth + DeVante Parker 8.3K left per position
