HAPPY SUMMER! Really awesome four game slate we have on tap today, and by awesome I mean brutally tough. We have a few ways we can go and some really big favorites we can look at. We also have substitution risks in those said big favorites. Netherlands and Belgium have both all but locked up first place in their now cake matchups and will start full strength squads for the most part, but likely will be subbing out their key players in the 2nd half of the match. This leads to usually slam dunk guys and situations and turns them into a muddy opaque view of the slate. That’s nothing we can’t manage though! This slate it is as important as ever to make sure you are in our discord. We’re going to go a short article for the most part today after yesterday’s far too lengthy one. My first strategy today will be hammering Denmark. They have a chance to go through despite losing both of their opening games. They just need to win against Russia and have Belgium beat Finland and they could pass through on goal differential. Russia played both games in their home country and now for the first time they are travelling away from there and heading into Denmark’s lair. I am very high on all of Denmark today and more specifically am looking at Daniel Wass, Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg, Martin Braithwaite, Youssef Poulsen, and Joakim Mahele. Braithwaite and Poulsen will be the threats to score and have been shooting at a high clip and the others providing suitable floors and strong ability in getting forward.
Netherlands are big favorites as well but the main concern is a bit with the rotation of the side. Memphis Depay is usually a top play, but substitution risk is very high with him;. Whether you think he needs the full game or not is something to consider. Donyell Malen will rotate in the side and start next to Depay and will be looking to build on his impressive display last match. I like Ryan Gravenbach for value at under 4K, but am playing a wait and see route with the others. They are all viable, just if you are willing to take the risk.
The same goes for Belgium. I likely won’t be playing Kevin De Bruyne today due to minutes being a major concern, and same goes for Eden Hazard. Going against Finland is great for DFS, but they are almost certain to come off early. Romelu Lukaku is in strong contention for the Golden Boot so I am a bit more bullish on him, but Belgium has so many strikers in the reserves we can also expect him to come off early. Like I said with Depay, do these guy’s need 90 minutes?
Ukraine and Austria are heavy with the odds on a draw. A draw sees both teams end on 4 points and both get through to the knockout stage. This game has a very low total and it would be a surprise to see much of a floor or upside from anyone in this match, personally it’s a fade for me and will not be looking much into it just due to the nature of the match, I hope it goes a little owned but the ownerships have been relatively sharp this tournament so not anticipating it at all.Â
These aren’t my only plays, but small insight to how the slate will play out, will be in the discord leading to lock, good luck everyone!
