First looking at the slate on DraftKings and you see set piece takers like David Alaba, Luka Modric, and Memphis Depay who will all be pretty massive chalk in cash games only combine for about half the salary, and still leave for a comfortable build to be had. Those three will predominantly take most of the set pieces and boast the strongest floors on the slate. England will have a few guys causing a vulturing of set pieces with the likes of Phil Foden and Mason Mount complicating things from a floor perspective. While England are the biggest favorites on the slate, outside of Harry Kane who is one of the top forwards on the slate, the ownership will likely be bogged down just a bit due to the plethora of options they provide. With the England match being held first and the daily tradition of the first game always carrying a little more ownership and obviously the fact that I mentioned above, they’re the biggest favorite on the slate, the first game will be very chalky. Phil Foden’s sublime talent and increased price tag with the midfielder eligibility only will hopefully see that ownership sink a little bit as he is England’s best talent with Kane and has shown it in the past.
I really enjoy the mid-range abundance of options that we have on fold here. With tournament plays scattered across the entire board. Guys like Andriy Yarmolenko, Ivan Perisic, Georginio Wijnaldum, Christoph Bumgartner, Marko Arnatuovic, and maybe a few more that I could add in the chat later. All these players are studs for their national team and offer great goalscoring upside in that range where you need someone from today. Couple it with a low cost defender or midfielder as well to complete your builds and you work in the studs as well. I think the key to the slate will be these mid-tier guys though,
As far as the defender position goes, there is not a ton of great floors out there. This isn’t a slate where we have a guy like Ricardo Rodriguez being a sure-fire play with set pieces, we have strong plays in the 5K range, but none offer a great floor. Luke Shaw and Kyle Walker will be on the outside for Enlgand and Walker has never boasted an attacking presence, while Shaw just seems a bit expensive at 6K. I like the Netherlands match and pairing Depay with Owen Wijndal or Denzel Dumfries gives your lineup even more attacking upside in the defender spot. Oleksandr Zinchenko will be in the midfield and does play a significant role in the Ukraine attack and priced below 4K at the defender spot as well. He will be a fairly popular option because of this as well.Â
Goalkeeper today as ever, playing whoever fits. No match has overwhelming clean sheet odds and we just saw Finland’s goalkeeper lead to a shipper despite being pretty substantial underdogs. My favorite goalkeeper though is Daniel Bachmann today!
Thank you for reading and good luck today!!
