I have been playing daily fantasy since 2013, mainly on DraftKings and FanDuel. But in recent years, I have added playing more on SuperDraft and Yahoo Daily Fantasy. There are a lot of benefits to playing on SuperDraft. The best part, in my opinion, is that SuperDraft offers a Multiplier contest. This basically replaces the salary cap we are used to on other daily fantasy sites and assigns every player a multiplier. That’s right, you can literally draft ANY player, but you do want to take into account the multiplier strategy. This makes it much more friendly and easy to play for players just getting into daily fantasy.

In the multiplier contests, you will draft 8 players on your lineup. This includes:

1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 Flex (NO Defense!)

Scoring is very similar to Fanduel as it is .5 point per reception or half-point PPR. It does offer player bonuses similar to DraftKings. There is a 100-yard bonus for running backs and wide receivers and a 300-yard passing bonus for quarterbacks. All bonuses give 2 additional points. The multipliers assigned to players can be anywhere from 1x-2x and anywhere in between. So take this into account and factor in your projection for each player.

MULTIPLIER STRATEGY:

Obviously, each week will be unique in terms of scoring, and where you want to “spend”. In SuperDraft, I am fine with playing some of the top 1X players. Let other people make mistakes by fading the studs. The strategy is to find the right mix and combo of 1X players and players that are in a good spot with a good multiplier.

For reference and to continue to monitor how to use the multiplier to our advantage, I looked at the winning lineup in the large field tournament from Week 10. The average multiplier between the 8 positions was 1.2X in Week 11.

TOP PLAYS FOR WEEK 12:

QUARTERBACKS

  • Patrick Mahomes – 1X – Even in a blowout game script against the Rams, Mahomes can still put up a ceiling performance.
  • Tua Tagovailoa – 1.2X – Yes, Jeff Wilson has a perfect match-up and I will be playing a lot of him. But that could cause this elite passing game to get overlooked. I want all pieces of the Dolphins in this high team total against the Texans.
  • Joe Burrow – 1.3X – Similar to Jeff Wilson, Samaje Perine will gain a lot of interest. I like playing the Bengals passing game against the Titans to attack the weakness of their defense.
  • Others – Justin Herbert – 1.25X, Tom Brady – 1.3X, Geno Smith – 1.35X, Mike White – 1.65X

RUNNING BACKS

  • Derrick Henry – 1.05X – Not many other starting running backs get Henry’s volume of rush attempts and carries near the goal line. He’s always in play for a multi-TD day and over 100 yards.
  • Rachaad White – 1.3X – With Leonard Fournette doubtful, White will have the lead back role in a great match-up against the weak Browns’ defense.
  • Jeff Wilson – 1.3X – As I mentioned, I want pieces of multiple Dolphins this week. Mostert is doubtful and Wilson has a match-up against the 32nd ranked Texans’ run defense.
  • Kenneth Walker – 1.45X – Shocked at this price for Walker. Way to cheap for his role, talent and matchup against the Raiders.
  • Others – Austin Ekeler – 1X, Christian McCaffery – 1X, James Conner – 1.2X, Isiah Pacheco – 1.25X, Samaje Perine – 1.35X, Latavius Murray – 1.35X, Antonio Gibson – 1.4X

WIDE RECEIVERS

  • Choose your favorite Stud(s) all these alpha receivers are in great spots to put up a ceiling performance. I’ll have at least one or two of these receivers in my lineups.
  • Tyreek Hill – 1X
  • Davante Adams – 1.05X
  • DeAndre Hopkins – 1.1X
  • Tee Higgins – 1.1X / Ja’Marr Chase – 1.1X (GTD – consider if IN with no snap count)
  • Jaylen Waddle – 1.2X
  • Others to consider or stack:
    • Keenan Allen – 1.3X – With Mike Williams out and a full week of practice for Allen, he will be back to operating as Herbert’s WR1.
    • DK Metcalf – 1.25X and/ or Tyler Lockett – 1.3X – Both are great targets against the Raiders’ secondary.
    • Mike Evans – 1.2X and Chris Godwin – 1.3X – Coming off a bye week and a match-up with the Browns may be a good time to target the Bucs offense at low ownership.
    • Terry McLaurin, 1.3X – His target share is basically double with Taylor Heinicke vs. what is was with Carson Wentz. Also has a great match-up against the Falcons’ pass defense.
    • JuJu Smith-Schuster – 1.35X – Mahomes WR1 (outside of Kelce) is back!
    • Garrett Wilson – 1.5X – QB Mike White has to be an upgrade from QB Zach Wilson. Plus Wilson has a great match-up against a depleted Bears’ secondary.
  • Value Multipliers:
  • Josh Palmer – 1.35X
  • Treylon Burks – 1.4X
  • DJ Moore – 1.4X
  • Nico Collins – 1.5X
  • Elijah Moore – 1.55X

Note:  This is an excellent place to look for correlation and stack at least one wide receiver with your quarterback.

TIGHT ENDS

  • Travis Kelce – 1X – The undisputed TE1 with immense upside in any game.
  • George Kittle – 1.1X – Kittle showed his ceiling on Monday night.
  • Mark Andrews – 1.15X – Andrews is off the injury report and the Ravens’ are lacking other weapons.
  • Hayden Hurst – 1.55X – Especially if Chase is out, this price is too cheap as one of Burrow’s main receiving options.
  • Other value TE to consider:
  • Greg Dulchich – 1.35X
  • Foster Moreau – 1.55X
  • Trey McBride – 1.55X
  • Tyler Conklin – 1.5X
  • Austin Hooper – 1.65X

FLEX

  • Try to target a player in a high total game to stack up for more correlation or a player with an extreme multiplier in a good spot. Either way, try to target a player that has a good chance to reach their 100-yard bonus and find the endzone.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Each week, I will examine the winning lineups in the large SuperDraft tournament to see what sweet spot worked for multipliers. Every season can have its own nuances, so we’ll track data to make sure we have an edge on the field and are using the multipliers correctly and to our advantage.
