The purpose of this blog is finding bets from the Sunday afternoon NFL slate. The Blog is written on Friday so lines and odds are subject to change before kickoff.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (5-6-1 YTD)
The ugly in this case being the Broncos and Colts game last night, I might sue the league for indecent exposure after making me watch that. We can only hope the Sunday slate doesn’t make our eyes want to bleed. There are a few interesting match ups this week. Honestly the Steelers in Buffalo could be interesting, the injury list from these teams could make a playoff contending roster. Aside from that, the later games are the ones that caught my eye the most. There are top tier defenses that I think are going to put in work this week.
49ers V. Panthers, 49ers -6.5 (-110)
I was boots on the ground for the Panthers last week, they’re trash in every sense of the word. Baker has looked rough this season, the 49ers defense should eat him alive. The San Fran D forces a 3-and-out almost 50% of the time, which is just insane. Their offense has been good, not great, but the Panthers have an average defense on a good day. This may not be the most excited game on the docket but the 49ers should have no problem covering.
Eagles V. Cardinals, Eagles -5 (-115)
I generally like to change things up week to week but the Eagles have been too good to fade. They have a ton of weapons on offense, spreading the ball very well and making difficult to really get a read on what they’re doing. As good as the offense has been, the defense has been just as good, leading the league in sacks and turnovers. It took the Cardinals the entire game to finally break away from the Panthers last week, if that play continues they’re going to really struggle against a very good Philly defense. This game could get out of hand quick for the Cardinals.
Cowboys V. Rams, Cowboys ML (+190)
Call me crazy, I think the Cowboys win this game on the road. The Rams have struggled to look like their Superbowl selves after 4 weeks. While the defense hasn’t been terrible, the poor offense has put a lot of pressure on the D. This week they face a very good Dallas defense. Dallas has one of the best pass rushes in the league, so far this year the Rams OL has struggled against the rush with Stafford being sacked an average of 4 times a game. The biggest weakness for the Cowboys D has been the run gam, but LA doesn’t have much of a running identity. Their entire offense is Cooper Kupp, between Diggs and Parsons it’s going to be tough for a struggling LA offense to really get anything going. And they’re Facing Cooper Rush, I don’t know why I didn’t start and end with that. The guy wins.
