St. Louis Blues @ Colorado Avalanche It’s sad to say, but this series is all but over after the Avs went up 3-1 on the series, winning game four 6-3. There just doesn’t seem to be any answer to stopping the Avalanche, I don’t see anyone stopping them at this point. I had high hopes for the Blues but it doesn’t seem very likely without Binnington in net. Husso hasn’t been the same in the post season as he was during the regular season, posting 3.76 GAA and .884 SV% in his 5 playoff appearances. The same can be said for the rest of the St. Louis depth players, guys like Thomas, and Barbashev have been virtually invisible, not just in this series but the entire playoffs. If they don’t show signs of life soon then they can kiss their cup chances good bye. The Colorado bench on the other hand has everything going for them. The Blues have done a very good job of limiting the high flying MacKinnon line, but their depth guys have really stepped up with Nazem Kadri racking up 7 points in his last 5 games. Colorados defense has been just good, proving difficult to deal with. Losing Girard obviously didn’t help that, but they still have Byram, Toews, Manson, and super star Cale Makar to fill any gaps. Betting this game is tough only because there isn’t a whole lot of value anywhere. Do I think the Blues could win at +215? Absolutely, but based on what I’ve seen lately it’s too hard to confidently place that.
Bet: Colorado Avalanche -1.5 (-110)
