Matchup record: 6-5  +.27 units

Will Zalatoris -112 (FanDuel) vs Scottie Scheffler   *1 unit*

Zalatoris comes in off yet another top 10 finish gaining 9.6 strokes total. He was a few missed putts and away from making a push for a win. He can bomb it off the tee and has gained strokes approach in his last 4 PGA events. He made 2 eagles last week and should be able to attack these Par 5s and the drivable Par 4 17th which all yield birdies at a 38%+ rate. Scheffler is off back-to-back missed cuts and his game is all over the place at the moment. Scheffler missed the cut here last year and Zalatoris looks to be the superior golfer right now.

Sungjae Im -118 (DraftKings) vs Billy Horschel    *1 unit*

Im has made 13 of his last 14 cuts and has shown upside with a couple of top 5 finishes. He was in contention last week firing a 5 under 31 on the front 9 Sunday before the wheels fell off on the Back. Great ball striker who has gained strokes across the board in his 2 trips to Phoenix with a 7th place finish in 2019. Horschel has struggled with his approach game losing strokes in his last 7 events. He is coming off a missed cut at the Farmers where he lost strokes across the board. Horschel has made his last 6 cuts here but hasn’t shown much upside with only 1 top 20 finish.

Bubba Watson -112 (FD) vs Louis Oosthuizen   *1 unit*

I feel like this is a great price for Bubba here who has great course history here 3rd and 4th in his last two visits vs Oosthuizen who has only played this event once and that was back in 2017. Louis is off a 29th place finish at the Farmers where he gained 7 strokes putting which will be very hard to match. He has lost strokes approach in his last 3 events. Bubba got caught in some bad weather on Friday and mailed it in. Bubba finished 2020 strong and now has the rust shaken off and heads to one of his favorite courses.

Max Homa +108 (FD) vs Russell Henley    *1 unit*

I really like Homa as a short dog here vs Henley as he has been on fire with his irons and is off 2 solid outings. Homa gained over 4 strokes approach last week en route to a solid 18th place finish at the tough Torrey Pines. Homa played this West Coast swing really well last year finishing 6th place here gaining nearly 10 strokes total. He finished 26th in his first trip the year before and has some nice momentum rolling again. Henley is a good ball striker but isn’t long enough off the tee and doesn’t play the par 5s well enough. He is coming off a missed cut at the AmEx and has shaky history here with 4 missed cuts. I like the underdog riding the momentum here in this matchup.

Max Homa +225

Sungjae Im 40-1 First Round Leader
