MATCHUP SUMMARY
The Seahawks look to rebound after dropping last week’s home opener to the Titans in overtime. Minnesota offers a soft defensive matchup and Russel Wilson is a top play at QB, despite seeing Chris Carson vulturing touchdowns last week. Tyler Lockett has significantly outproduced DK Metcalf thus far, yet they have received the exact same number of targets. Look for Metcalf to shine this week in a game that should be close throughout and produce some great fantasy opportunity.
The big story for the Vikings is Dalvin Cook’s status. He did not practice this week, but then again he barely practiced in training camp. Reports indicate he should be good to go and provided he is I will have a lot of him here against a defense that Derrick Henry torched last week for close to 200 yards rushing and three touchdowns. The Seahawks stayed close to AJ Brown last week, letting Julio Jones go off, and assuming they treat Justin Jefferson as the WR2 he could be in for a big day. Should Cook miss, which I think is unlikely, I’d be more interested in Kirk Cousins and the passing game than Alexander Mattison.
THE DFS GEMS
RUSSELL WILSON – $7600 on DraftKings. As the Seahawks look to limit Chris Carson’s usage to keep him healthy throughout the season it sets up well for Russ to be in position to have big production. In this matchup, he’s in the mix for the QB on my main teams.
DALVIN COOK – $8400 on DraftKings. Mike Zimmer wants the focal point of this Vikings’ offense to be Dalvin Cook, and as a result Cook saw 52 touches in the first two games. I expect him to play and hope the uncertainty keeps the field off of him this week because I think this could be a ceiling game spot for him.
DK METCALF – $7300 on DraftKings. The Vikings secondary was torched by the Bengals and Cardinals and while I will have some Tyler Lockett shares, I’ll be betting big that this is the spot where Metcalf breaks out and gets it going.
