MATCHUP SUMMARY
The Seattle Seahawks (4-8) broke a three-game losing streak last week when they defeated the San Francisco 49’ers at home 30-23. For the first time since returning from finger surgery, Russell Wilson looked a lot like the Russell Wilson of old as he completed 30 of 37 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Wilson will draw a nice matchup this week in Houston against the woeful Texans. Two Seahawk receivers looking to finish the season strong are Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. Both have underwhelmed as far as fantasy production so far this year but both are coming off solid games last week. The running back situation is harder to figure out as Pete Carroll has used a combination of Rashaad Penny, Alex Collins, Travis Homer and newly acquired Adrian Peterson at times the last few weeks. The Texans do rank at the bottom of the league in rush defense.
The Houston Texans come into this game against the Seahawks in total disarray. They were shutout at home last week by the Colts 31-0 and still only have two wins on the season. Tyrod Taylor started last week’s game but was benched in favor of rookie Davis Mills after he went just 5 of 13 for 45 yards. One of the lone bright spots on the offensive side of the ball this year has been the play of wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Despite having two below-average NFL quarterbacks throwing the ball this year he has still managed to compile 65 catches for 742 yards and 3 touchdowns. He is worth consideration this week at only $5,700 on DraftKings.
THE DFS GEMS
Russell Wilson, SEA – $6,600 on DraftKings. Wilson has looked a lot better the last two weeks and should continue on that upward trend this week on the road against the Texans.
DK Metcalf, SEA – $6,500 on DraftKings. Metcalf breakout game is coming. Could it be this week?
Brandin Cooks, HOU – $5,700 on DraftKings. Cooks is worth consideration as a last piece into your lineups this week in what should be a trailing game script.
