MATCHUP SUMMARY
The Seattle Seahawks travel cross country to take on the Indianapolis Colts in Lucas Oil Stadium. Russell Wilson should thrive in this fast up tempo pace led by new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. I look for both DK Metcalf and veteran Tyler Lockett to have strong years in this new system. Chris Carson has been a little injury-prone during his career but when healthy has put up solid fantasy numbers. On the other side of the ball the Seahawks defense really came on in the second half of the year in 2020 leading the league in sacks the last 12 weeks and return all of their top pass rushers.
Carson Wentz is reunited with Frank Reich in the new-look Colts offense. Wentz is coming off a nightmare of a 2020 season, one that saw him get benched after playing 12 games last year for Philadelphia. He is recovering from foot surgery but has quite a bit to prove with his new team. If he can stay healthy I look for a big bounce back year from him. With T.Y. Hilton sidelined with a neck injury, I look for Michael Pittman Jr to take a bigger step forward in this offense in year two. He had a solid rookie campaign with over 500 yards receiving in 13 games.
THE DFS GEMS
Chris Carson, SEA – $5,900 on DraftKings. Carson sat out the entire preseason and seems to be rested and ready to go for week 1. He brings nice value at this price tag and when healthy has been a nice fantasy option as the top back in this powerful offense. He should get plenty of looks this week.
DK Metcalf, SEA – $7,500 on DraftKings. Metcalf is coming off a monster season when he had 83 receptions for 1,303 yards and 10 touchdowns on 129 targets. He is one of the elite wide receivers in the league and has a nice matchup in week 1 here vs the Colts.
Michael Pittman Jr., IND – $4,100 on DraftKings. Pittman is expected to step in as the Colts’ No. 1 receiver for at least a few weeks while TY Hilton recovers from injury. He is poised to have a breakout season and it could start this week in a nice matchup against the Eagles.
