MATCHUP SUMMARY

The Rams got exactly what they were hoping for when they traded for Matthew Stafford in the off season. The veteran QB made his Rams debut on Sunday night football where he was very impressive completing 20-26 passes for 321 yards and 3 touchdowns and a passer rating of 156.1 in a big 34-14 win over the Bears. He connected with speedster Van Jefferson in the first quarter on a 67-yard TD strike. Veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp led the team with 10 catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns. The Rams will look to make it two wins in a row to start the season when they travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts.

One of the bigger disappointments in week 1 was the Indianapolis Colts who struggled mightily in a home loss to Seattle 28-16. Carson Wentz was harassed all day long by the front seven of the Seahawks and the team struggled to put points on the board. The offense would manage just 223 passing yards against a Seattle team who gave up 308 passing yards a year ago. I look for this Colts offense to bounce back with a lot better “effort” this week but it will be just as tough as Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey come to town.

THE DFS GEMS

Matthew Stafford, LAR – $6,400 on DraftKings. Stafford looked really good in week 1 and feel like he continues on this week against a Colts defense that gave up some big plays to DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett last week. He has so many weapons on the offensive side of the ball. I will ride the hot hand here.

Robert Woods, LAR – $5,700 on DraftKings. Woods took a back seat for most of last week seeing Van Jefferson and Cooper Kupp getting most of the targets and love from Stafford. He did avoid a complete bust when he caught a late touchdown. I look for him to get more targets this week and bounce back with a much better game.
