PrizePicks Picks – 1/12/23

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 28.5 Points

This is a prop that has been money all year long. It was a bit dicey when it was moved up to the 30s, but being back down at 28.5, it’s an easy move for bettors.

Tonight the Thunder are a double-digit dog against the Philadelphia 76ers. Philly has put up some inflated numbers, coming off back-to-back with the Pistons, but OKC should give them a contest tonight. Ultimately it will be a 76ers win, but Shai should rack up 30 and give his team a win at the spread.

LaMelo Ball Under 23.5 Points

This is an extremely well-placed number as Ball is averaging 23 points per game this season and has put up 23-24 in five of his last six games. Including Tuesday’s contest against the same Raptors team the Hornets face tonight.

Charlotte put up 120 in Toronto, and while they will try to do the same tonight, that number is far higher than the Raptors’ average. Toronto typically holds opponents closer to 110 points, and that’s what bettors should expect to see tonight. Fewer points from Ball and fewer points all around.

Bo Horvat Over 2.5 Shots on Goal

The Vancouver Canucks are coming off a 4-5 loss to the Penguins, and for the first time this season, Horvat put zero shots on nets. Horvat has been Vancouver’s leading scorer, so in a game where the Canucks scored four times, it’s shocking Horvat couldn’t even put on the goalie.

That was a complete anomaly, and the young center should come out swinging tonight. Three shots is light work for Horvat.

Patrice Bergeron Over 3.5 Shots on Goal

Bergeron takes more shot attempts than almost anyone in the league; on his team, he trails only David Pastrnak. Tonight the Boston Bruins face a Seattle team that is fantastic at limiting shot attempts. The Kraken have one of the best defenses in the league.

However, looking at how the Bruins have matched up against other top defenses, they always give the puck to Bergeron. So even if the Kraken hold Boston to 26 shots on goal, Bergeron will still have his four.
