PrizePicks Flex Play of the Day – 5/19/23

Perfection yesterday, making me 9-3 over my last 12 PrizePicks, and I’ve now hit four Flex Plays in a row. I wasn’t planning on doing PrizePicks article today, but when you’re this hot, you have to let it ride.

Zac Gallen Over 6.5 Strikeouts

After his Cy Young campaign last season, he is back at it this year. Through nine starts, he has 70 Ks and an ERA of 2.35. More impressive than that, in May, he pitched 27 consecutive innings without giving up a run. So while my money is on Spencer Strider, Gallen is certainly a worthy candidate for the NL Cy Young.

As for this prop, it’s an easy play. Gallen has struck out 7+ in six of his nine starts, and in two of the three appearances where he didn’t hit that number, he notched six Ks. So bettors can be confident he’ll have more than seven today.

Shane McClanahan Under 8 Strikeouts

I am curious to know how PrizePicks pulled this number. Only three times this season has McClanahan sat down more than seven batters in a game.

While McClanahan is a tremendous pitcher and taking on a Milwaukee team that loves to strike out, it just doesn’t make sense. He is capable of hitting this over, but statically the under is the smart way to go.

Bam Adebayo Over 9 Rebounds

I went over this bet in today’s NBA article. Overthere were taking Bam to record a double-double, and while that tenth one will be hard for him to notch, having a push at nine is solid insurance.

Jake Oettinger Under 27.5 Goalie Saves

Watching the lines move for these goalie props has been interesting; sometimes PrizePicks is right on, and other times there is a huge deficit. The teams Dallas has taken out and the team they now face all shoot at a similar rate, but through 13 games, only four times has Ottinger exceeded 28 saves.

This first game should be slower, so bettors shouldn’t be sweating this one unless it goes into overtime.
