MATCHUP SUMMARY

The Patriots are coming off a week 1 loss to the Dolphins. They scrapped Cam Newton this offseason in favor of the rookie Mac Jones. He finished his first NFL game with a 29-39 for 281 yards and 1 TD stat line. Damien Harris had 23 carries for 100 yards averaging 4.3 yards per carry. Jacobi Meyers led the team in targets with 9 targets and 6 catches followed by Nelson Agholor and James White with 7 targets apiece. With the Patriots being 6 point favorites, I’m expecting a heavy dose of Damien Harris in this one.

It appears this Jets team will be behind a lot this season, forcing them to throw the ball a ton. The rookie QB Zach Wilson had a 20/37 for 258 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 interception stat line in his first NFL game. Corey Davis and Braxton Berrios paced the team in targets with 7 apiece. Jamison Crowder is due back in week 2, and I expect him to get a lot of targets here in the trailing game script. Their backfield situation is less than to be desired for DFS as they are a full-blown RBBC with Coleman, Johnson, and Carter sharing the load.

THE DFS GEMS

Damien Harris, NE – $5,400 on DraftKings. Very cheap here considering he should have 20+ carries as a 6 point favorite.

Corey Davis, NYJ – $5,300 on DraftKings. Should see a lot of targets in this game as a 6 point underdog.
