MATCHUP SUMMARY
After a crazy 4th quarter comeback victory over the New York Jets last week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers return home to take on the Carolina Panthers. With a win they have a chance to move up to the second seed in the NFC playoff race. These teams played two weeks ago and the Bucs won easily 32-6. Even with the injuries to Ronald Jones (ankle) and Leonard Fournette (hamstring) and the departure of wide receiver Antonio Brown the Bucs still shouldn’t have much trouble in this game. From a fantasy perspective Ke’Shawn Vaughn should be the No. 1 running back and at $5,300 he makes for a nice value play here and should get plenty of work.
The Carolina Panthers are coming off a 18-10 loss to the Saints in New Orleans. With the Panthers out of playoff contention the bigger question going forward is deciding on their quarterback going into 2022.Sam Darnold got the start last week against the Saints and completed 17 of 26 passes for just 132 yards and an interception. DJ Moore remains the focal point of this offense and should get a favorable game script here with the Panthers playing from behind.
THE DFS GEMS
Ke’Shawn Vaughn, TB – $5,300 on DraftKings. With Jones and Fournette out, Vaughn should get the bulk of the workload here.
Tampa Bay Bucs, DST – $4,000 on DraftKings. This defense just dominated the Panthers two weeks limiting them to just 6 points with recorded 7 sacks. I could see an even bigger game here at home.
