MATCHUP SUMMARY
The Bears are playing for pride and draft stock. They are potentially in a nice spot to grab a few extra picks if they can snag a T3 pick. Other teams will likely be calling for a quarterback. Green Bay needs to win out to have any chance at the playoffs. With Miami and Minnesota yet to play the shot is minimal. For this game the big news is quarterback injuries. The early look is promising that both Justin Fields and Aaron Rodgers playing. That’s how I will approach the game and with both teams having suspect defenses we should see points.
The offense for Green Bay showed some life against the Eagles. The price on Rodgers is at perhaps an all time low. The issue has been his injuries and lack of chemistry with his wideouts. The positive is a very weak Bears defense plus the upside he provides, at least on paper. Rodgers spreads the ball around but Christian Watson will be the people choice. He has 3 consecutive games of 20+ points. This could easily move toward Allen Lazard making him the pivot. Aaron Jones will be the backfield option. He could break 100 yards on the ground while getting targets via the air. AJ Dillon is the pivot. He saw an uptick on Monday with carries. Stealing the touchdowns and pounding out some yards could potentially make him the right play. Getting exposure to all four of these players and potentially Rodgers is a must if MME in gpp’s.
Prior to Field’s injury he had the Bears offense moving in a positive direction. The price will make people think along with the injury. He has shown 40+ point upside and could end up lower owned than anticipated. The Packers are horrid against the run. This is an obvious plus for Fields but brings David Montgomery into play. I wouldn’t be surprised to see both exceed 100 yards while finding the end zone multiple times. Pairing the two together will be different. With Darnell Mooney out the show now belongs to Chase Claypool. We know what Claypool thinks of himself and now he has a chance to show it. He should garner heavier targets and could put together a solid game. These three players along with the Packers all make for nice potential game stacks. You can stack various ways which helps as you can use both sides with a run back from the other team.
THE DFS GEMS
Allen Lazard, Packers-$5,400 Of the main players listed above I can see Lazard being looked over. The numbers Watson has earned could easily be his any given week.
Justin Fields, Bears-$7,400 If people look past Fields and take shots on Rodgers I will gladly play some of him. He has shown the upside Rodgers hasn’t. I still expect him to get it done with the legs, the question is can he continue finding the end zone through the air.
Aaron Jones, Packers-$6,900 He ran for 100+ earlier this season against the Bears. I just feel this is one of those games that we see him hit his ceiling.
