Ottawa Senators (+135) @ New York Rangers (-155)
Showtime is in the building and ready to make his Rangers debut, and I can’t wait for the Senators to spoil the party. Ottawa is probably my favorite dog on the slate with the Rangers coming off a tough game last night.
New York won in OT against in the Flyers last night, a game that required their top defenseman to play a ton of minutes. Adam Fox played 28 minutes, Trouba 26, you get the picture. They have to be gassed and are once again only running 5 defenseman tonight. A tired defense in front of mediocre goaltending from Halak is a tough way to win a hockey game, especially against an Ottawa team that’s playing incredible lately as they make a late playoff push.
As much energy as the Rangers will have from Kane in their line up, Ottawa added Jakob Chychrun which will give them a massive boost not only defensively but offensively. He’s an elite defenseman and the skill he brings to the table makes Ottawa a very real threat.
Ottawa Senators Money Line (+135)
Montreal Canadiens (+215) @ LA Kings (-255)
The Kings really couldn’t have asked for a better match up tonight. Montreal has been an absoluter dumpster fire lately while the Kings have just been on fire.
As much as I want to hate them for trading away Quick it was the best move to get this team ready for the playoffs. They’ve made themselves a legit cup contender at this point with how they’ve been playing and I see no reason they don’t bury the Canadiens tonight.
LA Kings -1.5 (+100)
St. Louis Blues (+100) @ San Jose Sharks (-120)
Even as the road team, I find it odd that St. Louis is the dog here. Even after unloading so many pieces they are the better team in the match up. San Jose no longer has Timo Meier who was such an important piece in what little offense this team did have. They have guys on the 1st and 2nd lines that would be 3rd liners at best on an average NHL team.
The top 6 forwards for St. Louis are a competitive group and should absolutely be able to pull out a win tonight against a struggling San Jose squad.
