YTD (140-142-2)
San Jose Sharks (+200) @ Tampa Bay Lightning (-240)
I generally avoid teams on back to backs, but after the beat down the Lightning took last night from their cross-state rival I expect them to come out hot.
Tampa took a 7-1 beating from Florida last night in an embarrassing return to action, I can imagine they’re not happy about it and I expect them to take that anger out on the Sharks. This could end up being a close game with Elliot in net for the Lightning but Tampa needs to respond after last night so I’d expect they come out very fast.
Tampa Bay Lightning -.5 in First Period (+120)
Vegas Golden Knights (+100) @ Nashville Predators (-120)
Nashville looks to continue their win streak tonight as they host the Knights. Give me Nashville tonight. On home ice they’re incredibly tough to play against, they have solid depth all around and are back stopped by Jusse Saros. Saros is a man possessed when he’s locked in, and he’s usually locked in home ice.
Vegas won their previous meeting but that was in Vegas and Saros wasn’t in net that night. With him between the pipes I love Nash. Nashville gives up around 37 shots against, but still manage to only allow 2 goals against with the way Saros is playing. Scoring an average of just 1.56 goals a game the Knights could really struggle tonight against such a hot goalie.
I think the regulation win is certainly in play for the Preds tonight if you don’t mind the extra risk/reward but I’m absolutely taking them outright.
Nashville Predators Money Line (-120)
Anaheim Ducks (-110) @ Chicago Blackhawks (-110)
This game should gross in the best way possible. The first and second place teams in the “Bedard” cup go at it tonight. Neither of these teams want to win, not with a generational talent like Connor Bedard in the upcoming draft. You can say what you want about “teams don’t tank” but players on the Ducks are quite literally texting Bedard every time they lose, welcoming him to the team.
That being said I don’t know who wins tonight but I expect we see tons of goals from 2 teams that really don’t prioritize defense. They’re both allowing around 3.5 goals against as of late, with Anaheim playing last night and losing one of their best players in the process we could see a very gross game.
I don’t know what it is about these games but they always seem to have their fair share of goals and I expect the same tonight.
