YTD (138-141-2)
We’re finally back. I won’t waste anymore time, let’s get back into it.
Tampa Bay Lightning (-115) @ Florida Panthers (-105)
This game should see some fireworks as this match up has quickly become one of the best rivalries in hockey. Tampa was an absolute wagon heading into the All Star break, winning 8 of their last 10 games. Florida not so much but this is still a competent team.
Coming back from the ASG I expect some rust will need to be shaken off which inclines me to believe we see some goals here as these are 2 of the higher scoring teams in the league. It’s no secret that Florida plays offense first and asks questions later, so this game should be very back and forth with a Tampa squad that can still put up big numbers.
Over 6.5 Total Goals Scored (-125)
Vancouver Canucks (+205) @ New Jersey Devils (-245)
The Devils find themselves in an incredible position to kick off the second half of the season. They return to home ice to host a Bo Horvat-less Canucks squad. New Jersey should have no issues handling this Canucks team. Vancouver was allowing almost 5 goals against before the break, without Bo they’re going to be even worse. New Jersey handed the Canucks a 5-2 loss in Vancouver back in November.
One of the men I expect to be leading the charge against the Canucks is Jack Hughes as he continues his career season. Hughes has recorded 2 points in each of the Devils last 4 games, given how poor the Canucks are on defense I don’t expect that to change. Being on home ice should give him ample chances to help put the Devils on the scoreboard.
