YTD (148-149-2)
Tampa Bay Lightning (-250) @ Arizona Coyotes (+210)
I really wish the Coyotes had Ghost and Chychrun in the line up, I would be very interested in that +210 line if they were. Without them I expect to see some goals tonight.
Tampa is coming off a hard fought shootout win in Denver last night and after seeing nearly 50 shots I would be shocked to see Vasilevskiy between the pipes again. Elliot, the presumed starter, stinks allowing over 3 GAA with a sub .900 SV%. Arizona should have no issue hitting the 3 or possibly 4 goal mark tonight.
Tampa can get it done as always, even on a back to back. Arizona is out their two best defenseman while also playing their back up goalie so I would be shocked if this was a one sided game. This only applies if Brian Elliot is in net, I’m not sure why he wouldn’t be but I don’t have as much interest here if Vasi gets the green light again.
Over 6.5 Total Goals Scored (-115)
New York Rangers (-195) @ Vancouver Canucks (+165)
Generally I would target the teams making the East to West travel but the Rangers have been a brand new team since acquiring Tarasenko from the Blues. They now have one of the deepest teams in the league with an impressive top 9 forward group.
Goaltending is another huge reason I like the Rangers tonight. Igor Shesterkin will get the start for them, opposite of Arturs Silovs. I’ll be quite honest I have no idea who that is. He has put up decent numbers in the AHL but the NHL is a different beast.
With the depth of the Rangers they should be able to handle this Canucks team that has looked lost since losing their captain.
New York Rangers -1.5 (+130)
Buffalo Sabres (-210) @ Anaheim Ducks (+180)
I’ll keep things simple. I expect Buffalo to hammer the Ducks. Anaheim is statistically the worst defensive team in the league, hosting a a high powered Sabres offense looking to bounce back.
Buffalo put the top line back together after a failed experiment in LA, I expect them to be absolutely clicking tonight. I do think we see some goals all around tonight in this one as Buffalo isn’t great defensively themselves.
I know the alt-over/money line SGP didn’t work last night but I like it a lot more in this situation. There should be a fair amount of goals with Buffalo rallying back after their 5-2 loss to the Kings.
