Carolina Hurricanes (-170) @ Washington Capitals (+145)
I’m a big fan of this game as a get right spot for the Hurricanes after their 6-2 loss to the Rangers on Saturday. Even as the away team I expect the Hurricanes to be very dominant in this game.
Carolina is one of the best road teams in the league, allowing under 2 goals against. This doesn’t bode well for a Capitals team that is averaging only 1.3 goals for in their last 5 home stands. To add insult to injury, Ovechkin has left the team for the time being to deal with a personal matter only dealing an even larger blow to the Capitals scoring abilities.

Chicago Blackhawks (+120) @ Montreal Canadiens (-140)
Montreal is one of my favorite teams to bet on home ice. While that hasn’t been the case lately due to injury it makes it’s return tonight as they host a terrible Blawkhawks team.
A large reason I prefer them tonight is goaltending. Jake Allen will be in net for the Habs while Jaxson Stauber gets the start for the Hawks. Stauber has been okay in his 3 starts this year but Allen is far and away the better of the two.
To add a little more juice to this I’ll SGP with the alternate over of 5.5. I expect there to be a fair amount of goals tonight as neither of these teams is spectacular defensively, ranking in the bottom 3rd of the league.

Tampa Bay Lightning (-125) @ Colorado Avalanche (+105)
To make this simple, I have no idea why the Avalanche are home dogs here. They’re playing incredible hockey and are on home ice so it makes no sense. I’m not complaining about the extra payout but just confused by it.
Tampa is playing well but they’re not the team we’re seen in years past. The Avs on the other hand are slowly starting to look like the reigning Stanley Cup champions we know. Plus money on the Avs at home is just silly and I’ll take that 8 days a week.
