YTD (9-11-1)

Last night was filled with goals, with 7 of 9 games scoring 6 or more goals. The Pens let me down big time, they couldn’t get a favorable bounce to save their life. Luckily the Rangers kept their scoring up to easily cover that game while the Avs and Wild played out pretty much as expected. The Leafs continue to be the Leafs, losing in the biggest upset in the NHL since 2005 to the Coyotes. A few games and a few props caught my eye for tonight, there are plenty of games that could rack up a fair amount of scoring.

Vancouver Canucks (-110) @ Columbus Blue Jackets (-105)

Both teams come into this game looking for their first win of the year. The Canucks have blown a multi goal lead in all 3 of their losses. They head to Columbus for game 2 of their back to backs. Being their second game in 2 days, backup netminder Spencer Martin is expected to get the start. With a back up goalie in net and multiple blown leads, I like the Blue Jackets tonight, their first few games were tougher match ups than the Canucks first games. Even with Laine out with injury their top line can put up points, they’re fast and move the puck well. Being on home ice I think the Jackets take their first win tonight.

Columbus Blue Jackets Money Line (-105)

Buffalo Sabres (+200) @ Edmonton Oilers (-240)

This match up contains a lot of liability on defense and between the pipes. Both teams can put up a ton of goals but the trade off is making defense optional. With all the offensive talent in this game I really like the over in Edmonton. Until I see either of these teams tighten up their defense then both these teams are always in play for the over. McDavid and Draisaitl are always good for a few points and I expect penalties on both ends to be taken advantage of.

Over 7 Total Goals Scored (+100)
Alex Tuch Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+115)

Vegas Golden Knights (+140) @ Calgary Flames (-165)

Calgary has began this season where they left off the last, winning their first 2 games against divisional rivals. They’re fast on offense and play great defense to add to their excellent goal tending. Tonight they host a Vegas team who is 3-0, although only one of their games was against a quality opponent. Calgary is going to be a every tough beat on home ice. They move the puck well with a ton of depth on both ends of the ice, with Markstrom in net I like them tonight.
