YTD (7-10-1)

Rough day with the props on Saturday, may have gone a little overboard and ended up a shot short pretty much across the board. We’re back after a Sunday off with plenty of games to choose from. The Leafs are -490 against the Coyotes so it’ll be funny when they lose another game as the heavy favorites. I like a few of the games tonight, there are some great match ups with a lot of potential for high scoring games. I’ll give out a shot prop for each game I mention but I’m not in love with any of them, they’re just the ones I like most and there for the people who prefer them to game lines.

Pittsburgh Penguins (-255) @ Montreal Canadiens (+215)

Pens are headed to Quebec for their first road game after pulling off a 2-0 start at home. Led by Sidney Crosby the Pens scored an average of 6 goals in their first two games while going 40% on the power play. The offense is absolutely buzzing right now with the usual suspects racking up points. Backup goal keeper Casey DeSmith was given the green light for tonight but I don’t see that being a major factor, he an Jarry were a top duo last season so he can hold his own. With all the attention Crosby and Guentzel will be getting I can see Bryan Rust having a solid game. He has 9 shots through the last 2 games. He gets a ton of power play minutes and is an underrated shooter. Montreals only win came against Toronto, who the Canadiens always play tough against. The Pens should be firing tonight and continue their scoring clinic.

Pittsburgh Penguins -1.5 (+100)
Bryan Rust Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-135)

Anaheim Ducks (+215) @ New York Rangers (-255)

Rangers are once again a top team in the league, coming off a loss to to Winnipeg they should have no issues with the Ducks. Anaheim struggled to generate quality chances last game against the Islanders which resulted in them losing 7-1. The Rangers are pretty much a better version of the Islanders. They lock down the middle of the ice, making it tough to get quality chances which, even if they find the net, have to beat Igor. Much easier said than done. I like the Ducks but they are still a lower tier team and shouldn’t be much of a threat to the Rangers.

New York Rangers -1.5 (+105)
Artemi Panarin Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+105)

Colorado Avalanche (-125) @ Minnesota Wild (+105)

I’ll keep this one short, this game could be an absolute barn burner. Both teams have excellent offenses with high caliber players leading the way against back up goalies on both ends tonight. I know Giorgiev is the starter for the Avs but he backed up in New York and remains relatively untested this season. Losing last game to the Flames, Colorado has shown that they are in fact human, letting in a few goals. Both Minnesota and Colorado are a combined 4/4 on overs this season, which is a small sample size but I don’t see that really changing tonight given the goalie situation. As far as shots on goal I like Matt Boldy tonight. He plays on the third line for the Wild which should keep him away from the big dogs on the Avs, while also having time on their top power play. He’s averaging 3 shots a game so far which could continue tonight in what I see being a high scoring affair.

Over 6.5 Total Goals Scored (-115)
Matthew Boldy Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+135)

Just wanted to reiterate that I’m not in love with any of the shot props. These are the ones I thought were best. They’re here for those who want action and prefer them to game lines.
