YTD (138-137-2)

Killer night yesterday with the 5 game slate, Stutzle 1 shot away from a perfect slip. 9 gamer tonight, my favorite amount of games for no reason other than I like it. Enough games to give picks but too many to overwhelm.

If you missed the live show you can find that on the RPS Youtube channel, either way I’ll give the spark notes version of some of the calls made there that are some of my favorites.

As always if you’re enjoying the free content at Run Pure Sports then I’d recommend becoming a subscriber. Subs have access to break downs and core plays from every sport, as well as premium access shows. If you do subscribe the code tannersmith15  will get you 15% whatever package you go with.

Buffalo Sabres (+155) @ Winnipeg Jets (-180)

I’m with Vegas on this one, I love the Jets here. They’re back on home ice after playing 8 of their last 10 on the road. I think everyone knows by now that I’m a Connor Hellebuyck fan boy, he’s simply elite. Of his 19 home games he has allowed more than 2 goals only 3 times, averaging 1.84 GAA and .938 SV%. Just insane numbers.

The Jets as a whole have been clicking lately, their power play has been excellent and their penalty kill has been absolutely lights out at 90%. Just a few games ago the Jets took the Sabres down 4-2 in Buffalo, with Hellebuyck stopping 39 of 41 shots. On home ice I don’t expect him to see nearly that many shots and we see Buffalos scoring slowed down quite a bit.

Winnipeg Jets in Regulation (-115)

Anaheim Ducks (+310) @ Colorado Avalanche (-380)

Take a moment to look at these odds, they’re ridiculous but rightfully so. The Avs should absolutely hammer the Ducks, and I expect that to start early. Makar is back in the line up and Colorado should come out of the gates hot.

Colorado is going to be absolutely buzzing to start this game. Anaheim just doesn’t play defense, allowing nearly 40 shots a game. You can’t give this offense that many chances. Usually I like the first period puck line to be plus money but -110 given what the full game line is paying is pretty solid.

Colorado Avalanche -.5 First Period (-110)

Chicago Blackhawks (+310) @ Calgary Flames (-380)

This is the same set up as the game mentioned above, it’s completely lopsided. Chicago held off 21 shots in the first period the other day to ruin my favorite play of the night, but I don’t see that happening again today. I have tons of action of the Flames tonight, they should absolutely crush this Hawks team, especially with Stauber in net.

Stauber is the next goalie Chicago is throwing to the Wolves. He’s played fine since being called up from the AHL but he’s not good by any means, he wasn’t good in the AHL. The way the Flames shoot I don’t see how they come into the 2nd period without a lead.

Calgary Flames -.5 in First Period (-110)

St. Louis Blues (-150) @ Arizona Coyotes (+130)

Expect some goals in this game. It should be gross in the best way possible. At plus money I don’t hate the Coyotes either, but regardless of who wins I think they cash the 6.5 over. Neither team is very good defensively, both allowing around 3.5 goals against. To add to it, St. Louis will be starting Griess in net, who averages over 3 GAA on the road.

As I said this could be a gross game but in a very fun way. I think we see some goals here.

Over 6.5 Total Goals (-110)
