YTD (135-136-2)

Vancouver simply couldn’t buy a goal in the first period, even as they outshot the Blackhawks 21-6 in the period. It was tough to watch. Aside from that it was a decent night as the Ducks smashed the Coyotes, hitting both the over and the Ducks Money Line I threw out in the Discord after the goalies were announced (All the more reason to become a subscriber).

I have no interest in the Oilers game tonight, they may win by 9 goals and I think you can add them into any parlay for some extra juice. I would be absolutely shocked to see them lose. Being a smaller slate I couldn’t find the juiciest plays out there but I found a few that I like.

New York Islanders (+110) @ Ottawa Senators (-130)

Interesting game here in Ottawa as a heathy-er Islanders team tries to grab their 2nd win from the Senators. Last time they met the Islanders took it 4-2, but I like the Sens tonight. One reason for that is Semyon Varlamov will be in net for the Isles, and while he was in net last game he had to made a whopping 36 saves to keep his team in it. He’s an okay back up but given the shot disparity I expect here I don’t see him putting up numbers like that again.

Another reason is that of the 4 Islanders goals last game, only 1 came from regular 5 on 5 play. 2 goals came from the Power Play and the last on an empty net. The Islanders don’t draw a ton of penalties and even when they do they’re only scoring on 10% of chances.

As I mentioned before I expect there to be some shot disparity here as the Senators are very good at controlling possession on home ice. One player I expect to capitalize on that is Tim Stutzle. Being on home ice he should see a pretty favorable match up. Averaging over 3 shots a game in his last 5 games I expect that trend to continue here with his prop sitting at 2.5.

Vancouver Canucks (+150) @ Seattle Kraken (-175)

I’ll be quick here. This game should shoot as the average total in their last 2 meetings was 10 goals. Neither team has been spectacular defensively, with Seattle averaging 3 and Vancouver 5 goals against.

With the Canucks on a back to back I love the Kraken first period puck line. I know travel needs to be involved to be one of the system plays I talk about, but the Kraken haven’t played in 4 days. Their legs will be as fresh as can be and the Canucks were absolutely buzzing around last night. Given the Canucks affinity to giving up goals I think they head into the 2nd period in a deficit for the 6th straight game.
