YTD (122-129-2)

I’m going to half units for a little while after the debacle last night. I don’t think anyone had the Jets getting smoked like that in their crystal ball, if you took the Connor and Ehlers PP point props I mentioned then you at least got that one back. Beyond that the Sabres couldn’t hold a 2 goal lead like their life depended on it which stinks because my initial thought was to bet the over. That’s what happens when I start thinking too much, bad things happen.

Numbers have meant very little lately in some of these games, but they always follow through in the long run so we’ll back the lost units with time.

Pittsburgh Penguins (-110) @ Ottawa Senators (-110)

This game could absolutely shoot out. While I wouldn’t fault anyone for taking the Sens to win, I can’t do it out of principle. Pens are still without Petry, Letang, and Jarry. While they’re likely to return soon, they aren’t returning tonight. Ottawa on the other hand is getting back Josh Norris, who was on fire before his injury sidelined him for a few months.

These are two teams that are very offense focused, mostly because the Pens suck at playing defense. Play to your strengths I guess. With DeSmith in net for the Pens I expect Ottawa to bury a few, and Pittsburghs big players are always good for 2-3 goals themselves.

Over 6 Total Goals (-115)

Colorado Avalanche (+135) @ Calgary Flames (-155)

The Avs injury troubles just won’t go away, tonight they head to Calgary without Cale Makar to take on the Flames. No Makar on the blue line should open this game up quite a bit for the Flames. Makar is hands down their best defenseman, and the Flames shoot the puck a ton which should give Georgiev plenty of chances at seeing the puck.

Calgary dominates in shots for/shots against, out shooting opponents on home ice by an impressive 11 shots on average. With Colorado allowing 34 shots against I like Georgiev to hit his save prop of 30.5. The Avs allow that many shots with Makar in the line up, without him I fully expect that to hit. Usually one guy being out of the line up doesn’t have this much of an impact but with a player like him gone it really opens things up.

Alexander Georgiev (COL) Over 30.5 Saves (-110)

Dallas Stars (-155) @ San Jose Sharks (+135)

Stars should absolute smash here. San Jose is allowing almost 4 goals against, and starting James Reimer tonight. Reimer has been below average at best, coming into tonight with a 3.24 GAA and .897 SV%.

Dallas hasn’t been lighting the lamp on the road lately, but their last 5 opponents have all been very good defensive teams, aside from the loss to the Ducks. That game was a back to back so that’s something to consider.

Dallas Stars to Win in Regulation (+100)

Other Interesting Bets :

Tampa/Vancouver Over 7 (+110) – I don’t take overs higher than 6.5, but this game could very well explode. Really wouldn’t be shocked to see over 10 honestly.
Devon Toews (COL) Shot/Goal props – I didn’t see shot props up yet but I have interest in that the most with Makar out of the line up. Him scoring would be a longshot but tonight is as good a night as any for him to tuck one.
Islanders Money Line (+165) – There is a reason this pays out so much, but Varlamov has incredible history against the Bruins so there is certainly a likelihood of this hitting
