MATCHUP SUMMARY
The surging Seahawks head into Arizona for their second matchup of the season with Kliff Kingsbury’s Cardinals. Pete Carroll’s defense has vastly improved and ranks third in overall DVOA over their last four games. Further dampening my interest in this game overall is the teams played to a 19-9 disappointment in Week 6. Geno Smith has played well and distributed targets amongst the receivers fairly evenly, lowering the ceiling outlooks for DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. With Marquise Goodwin ruled out, D’Wayne (Dee) Eskridge enters the picture as a punt option at $3100 on DraftKings. Carroll told reporters he would have an expanded role in the passing game this week. The Tight Ends are evenly splitting work and not in play on any slate in my opinion. Kenneth Walker III is a wrecking ball but a fringe play on the main slate.
The Cardinals have yet to get rolling even with the return of DeAndre Hopkins. Arizona’s backfield is a question mark with James Conner potentially returning this week and Darrell Williams in the mix now. I’m low on this team for DFS on the main slate as Kyler’s top option is clearly Hopkins and the other receiving options are a little too expensive this week.
THE DFS GEMS
DeANDRE HOPKINS, CARDINALS, $7,900 on DraftKings. Hopkins has 22 catches on 27 targets in two games since returning from suspension.
KENNETH WALKER III, SEAHAWKS, $6,200 on DraftKings. Pairing him with Seattle’s cheap defense is an interesting contrarian play here.
DEE ESKRIDGE, SEAHAWKS, $3,100 on DraftKings. Punt play who may is expected to see extra volume this week.
