MATCHUP SUMMARY

The surprising Seahawks hit the road for a non-divisional matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Seahawks’ offense has been clicking on all cylinders with Geno Smith having a renaissance so far this season. Tyler Lockett is Questionable and news out of Seattle is that his hamstring injury may be more severe than previously indicated. DK Metcalf is just $6,600 on DK in a friendly matchup. The Chargers have also yielded the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing Running Backs, making Kenneth Walker III one of the more intriguing plays on the slate. Seattle’s Tight Ends are fully splitting work and targets and thus are a pass for me.

The Chargers, miraculously 4-2 despite some bad injury luck and horrific defensive play, now have a laundry list of injuries on the offensive side of the ball. Keenan Allen is Questionable to return after missing the last five weeks with a hamstring injury. Reports from camp suggest he and the team are not aligned and that most of his work in practice this week focused on goal-line packages. Even if he plays, the expectation is he’ll be limited. Joshua Palmer, Donald Parham, Jr. and Kicker Dustin Hopkins have all been ruled out. The offense has been running through Austin Ekeler (20/20/24 touches last three games), and he saw 16 passing targets in Monday night’s game. With Parham out and Allen Questionable and/or limited if he plays, I have more interest in Tight End Gerald Everett than Mike Williams. Deandre Carter should also benefit with Palmer out and is just $3,700 on DraftKings.

THE DFS GEMS

AUSTIN EKELER, CHARGERS, $8,300 on DraftKings. Incredible volume due to injuries on the Chargers.

KENNETH WALKER III, SEAHAWKS, $5,800 on DraftKings. The Seahawks haven’t skipped a beat with Walker in the backfield.

GERALD EVERETT, CHARGERS, $4,000 on DraftKings. Should see enhanced opportunity and the Seahawks are dead-last defending the position.

DK METCALF, SEAHAWKS, $6,600 on DraftKings. Still possesses massive upside in a good spot.
