MATCHUP SUMMARY

The Falcons travel down to Tampa off a close win vs the Browns last week 23-20. The passing game was nonexistent last week as Mariota only completed 7 passes on just 19 attempts. Marcus Mariota’s passing attempts have dropped each of the past 3 games after throwing the ball 33 times in their opening game. This is now two straight weeks with 20 or fewer attempts, which is cause for concern when looking at London and Pitts. Cordarrelle Patterson was placed on the IR with a knee injury this week. Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley split work as both carried the ball 10 times. Allgeier totaled 84 yards rushing, while Huntley had 56 yards plus a touchdown.

Tampa got down early vs Mahomes and the Chiefs and was never able to rally. The Bucs were forced to abandon the rush game early as the Chiefs raced out to a 21-3 lead. Tom Brady completed 39 of 52 throws for 385 yards and 3 touchdowns. Mike Evans, back from suspension caught 8 of 10 targets for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns. Chris Godwin returned after missing the last 2 games due to injury. Godwin caught 7 of 10 targets for 59 yards playing 53 of 64 snaps. Uncle Lenny was active in the passing game catching all 7 targets for 57 yards and a touchdown. The rookie, Rachaad White played a season-high 24 snaps and caught 5 passes for 50 yards. The price tag is too high to roster him this week at $5,100 I feel.

I look for Tampa to roll over the weaker Falcons here as they look to bounce back from last week’s loss to the Chiefs. I will be looking to play Brady doubles this week as the Falcons have given up 42.1 points to the WR position on average this season. Godwin and Evans are my favorite options to stack with Brady. Both pass catchers saw double-digit targets last week and Atlanta will have no answer for this passing attack. This double stack only costs you $18,800 and we could see both pass catchers hit the 100-yard bonus with multiple touchdowns.

THE DFS GEMS

Tom Brady, TB – $6,000 on DraftKings. Tom has looked great in his past two games and gets a tasty matchup vs a struggling Falcons team. 40+ attempts in his last 2 games and just got Chris Godwin back last week.

Mike Evans, TB – $6,900 on DraftKings. Brady’s favorite target has found the endzone 3 times to begin this season and should be able to hit that 100-yard bonus again this week.

Chris Godwin, TB – $5,900 on DraftKings. Godwin has a great price tag here and impressed me last week playing 53 of 64 snaps in his first game back. Both of these receivers have a 30+ point upside and if Tampa wants to pour it on they could be on the winning lineups.
