MATCHUP SUMMARY
The Rams look to bounce back against the Falcons after their opening night blunder vs the Bills, losing 10-31. Vegas tends to agree they will as this is a very wide spread at -10.5 so we should be able to attack this game from a few different angles from a DFS perspective.
The first perspective is from a Rams onslaught point of view where in a game where they are leading by a ton, Darrell Henderson priced at 5.7K is just way too cheap for the role that he had in week 1. Henderson played on 59 snaps while Cam Akers (5.6K) only played 12 snaps. This could change at any time, but my money will be on Henderson this weekend in a positive game script. Cooper Kupp (9.9K) will also always be in play as he is the true alpha WR1 of this Rams offense. Last week he received 15 targets which lead to 13 receptions, 128 yards, and a TD. The next closest was Tyler Higbee (4.2K) with 11 targets, but he only converted that into 5 receptions and 39 yards total.
The second perspective is where you think ATL can play it close, or in a pass heavy trailing script. One thing to keep an eye on is to see if Tyler Allgeier will be a healthy scratch as he was in Week 1. If he is, that only further solidifies Cordarrelle Patterson’s (6K) role in the backfield. He would benefit in a positive and negative game script as he can surely rush with volume (22 carries for 120 yards last week and 1 TD) while also catching 3 passes for 16 yards (5 targets). Kyle Pitts (5.4K) and Drake London (5.2K) are also very cheap for being the WR1 and TE1 if you think the Falcons can keep it close. Both had 7 targets last week.
THE DFS GEMS
Cooper Kupp, LAR – $9,900 on DraftKings. Expensive tag for the best receiver in football last year, but this should keep his ownership in check and arguably has the highest ceiling of any player on the slate.
Cordarrelle Patterson, ATL – $6,000 on DraftKings. In Week 1, the Falcons showed that they are truly committed to Patterson as their RB1. This will further be solidified if Tyler Allgeier is inactive again.
Darrell Henderson, LAR – $5,700 on DraftKings. I would not be shocked if Henderson ended being the chalkiest RB on Sunday’s slate. 5.7K is way too cheap for someone who played on 55/67 total snaps.
