MATCHUP SUMMARY
All signs point to the Jags playing their guys here so anytime we can get plays against a weak Houston defense, there will always be viability from a DFS perspective. Lets dive in!
On the JAX side, it is pretty clear what weapons are available to us. Led by Trevor Lawrence (6.2K), the Jags have been rolling as they are winners of 3 straight. Travis Etienne (6.4K) will be a popular play as he is the true running alpha of JAX and HOU has been notoriously bad against the run. Surrounding Lawrence on the perimeter are Christian Kirk (6K), Zay Jones (5K), and Evan Engram (4.4K) who he heavily prefers. Those 3 will all be strong options with less emphasis on Marvin Jones (3.6K) and JaMycal Hasty (4.5K).
HOU is a lot tougher to get behind as they are still led by Davis Mills (5K) and a RBBC of Rex Burkhead (4.8K), Royce Freeman (4.6K), and Dare Ogunbowale (4.2K). Brandin Cooks (4.8K) is coming off of a 9 target game which included a touchdown, so he is somewhat interesting as a 1-off. With Cooks insertion back into the lineup, Chris Moore (4.2K), and Phillip Dorsett (3.2K) will be less on my radar. Jordan Akins (3.1K) is someone I can get behind if you land on him for your TE position.
THE DFS GEMS
Travis Etienne, JAX – $6,400 on DraftKings. Targeting HOU’s run defense is something I’ve been doing all year so it won’t stop here with ETN.
Brandin Cooks, HOU – $4,800 on DraftKings. Will bet on the talent here of Cooks as he is coming off of a 9 target week which only turned into 4 receptions.
Evan Engram, JAX – $4,400 on DraftKings. Likely will be the highest owned TE of the weekend and rightfully so. 7, 15, 10, 8 targets in his last 4 games with games all totaling over 14+ FPTs (one being a 42.2 performance as well as a 21.3 performance last week).
