MATCHUP SUMMARY

The 3-6 Saints get to visit the 2-6 Steelers in what should be a competitive, but low scoring affair as this matchup features one of the lowest totals of the weekend. I expect this one to play ugly, but I do think there are some viable plays from each side that we can find. Lets dive in!

On the visiting side of the Saints, Andy Dalton (5.5K) has been struggling mightily so Jameis Winston (5.3K) waits in the wings. Because of this, I’ll likely have no interest in rostering any of the QBs from the NO side and instead I’ll focus on the skill player alphas such as Alvin Kamara (7.4K) and Chris Olave (6.8K). Kamara is a prime candidate for a bounce back performance and would be my preference of the 2. Ownership will definitely reflect this though as Olave’s tag will keep his ownership in check. I’ll have some interest in Jarvis Landry (4.5K) if he is available as well as Juwan Johnson (3K), but won’t reach for secondary guys like Adam Trautman (2.5K), Marquez Callaway (3.6K), and Tre’Quan Smith (4.3K) on this slate.

On the PIT side, this will be their first contest without Chase Claypool so that leaves some usage on the table for the remaining pass catchers. My favorites to capitalize on Claypool’s absence would be Pat Freiermuth (4.2K) and George Pickens (5K) as it seems Kenny Pickett (5.1K) has established the best chemistry with these 2. Dionte Johnson’s (5.8K) plummeting price tag cannot be ignored though as he’s received the targets, but has not turned them into any sort of desirable production. There have been reports that Najee Harris (5.5K) will begin to lose more work to Jaylen Warren (4.9K) so until that situation gets smoothed out, the PIT RBs will be a total fade for me.

THE DFS GEMS

Alvin Kamara, NO – $7,400 on DraftKings. When the Saints are humming, Kamara is in full effect. Prime bounce back candidate from last week’s stinker, but is projected to be one of the highest owned RBs on the slate.

Pat Freiermuth, PIT – $4,200 on DraftKings. Could see increased opportunity with Claypool out of the picture and was already one of Pickett’s favorite targets.

Juwan Johnson, NO – $3,000 on DraftKings. It is clear that Dalton has some chemistry with Johnson as he’s had 4 or more targets in 3 of his last 4 games as well as 3 touchdowns total.
