Monday Nights Are Back!
It was quite the interesting Sunday to say the least. As expected, there was highs and lows, and by now most of you should be used to this being what the NFL is. A high variance sports to gamble on and thus why betting numbers is so crucial to your own success. A juicy opening MNF match-up here especially when you consider how injury ridden the Ravens have been during preseason. Those injuries certainly help even the playing field here vs the Raiders.
Injuries All Around
The Ravens have really been eaten up by the injury bug. Dobbins, Hill, Peters to name a few, but this group still has their star QB in Jackson. Peters is a big loss to that defense, but many running backs should have success behind Greg Roman’s offense. Expect Williams, Murray or even Bell to step up without much issue. I truly don’t think these injuries impact the big picture all that much or even this week vs the Raiders.
Things Around Jackson May Change But He Remains The Same
I truly mean this in a good way. We’ll see new faces around him at RB, the Ravens added some new WR pieces, new OL and yet expect Jackson to have another great season. I’m hoping to see Jackson take the next step in his passing game and I think it happens especially early on. This Ravens team has new faces at RB and a few new ones at WR, but I expect this offense to leverage the running perception to offer up better pass options.
Passing Jackson
Jackson will have a juicy match-up here pass-wise as the Raiders have one of the youngest and worst secondaries on all of football. I expect the Ravens to leverage the play action and the fear of running it, to take some deep shots. I also expect Jackson to be throwing into gigantic windows all night. While, the Ravens offense is built to run, teams will further try to stop this. Greg Roman should take a few shots, as this is the type of team in the Raiders where you can build Lamar’s confidence.
Tough Game to Bet On
There are plenty of differentiating factors that could make one have a valid argument for countless bets in this game. Small enough number that makes the Ravens enticing. Home dog in the Raiders going up against a depleted Ravens team as some key positions. The over makes sense with all the offensive firepower, but the under also makes sense with the lack of continuity. My favorite look here is Lamar Jackson to go over his passing number of 208.5. This is a normal Lamar number, but I think there are extra factors which should entice the Ravens to throw more than norm. There will be plenty more MNF games to exploit, but I have as my favorite look in this one.
