TRAIL BLAZERS (120.5) -1, 240 vs PELICANS (119.5)

The New Orleans Pelicans (17-23) will travel to Portland to take on the Trail Blazers (23-16). These two teams have played twice this season and both times the Pelicans have jumped out to big leads but were unable to hold on. The main reason was Damian Lillard. He had 43 points and a career-high 16 assists in a 126-124 win in New Orleans on Feb. 17. On Tuesday, Lillard scored 50 points on 13-20 shooting including six 3-pointers and converted 18-18 from the free throw line in a 125-124 win. They have won five of their last seven games. In the loss to Portland on Tuesday, Brandon Ingram led the Pelicans with 30 points and Zion Williamson added 28. Lonzo Ball had 11 points and a career-high 17 assists. The Los Angels Lakers (27-13) will look to extend their winning streak to four when they welcome in the Charlotte Hornets (20-19) to Staples Center. They cruised to a 137-121 win over Minnesota on Tuesday behind another triple-double by Lebron James. The King finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. Montrezl Harrell has been impressive off the bench the last two games scoring 52 points. The Hornets opened their five-road trip with a 129-104 road loss at Denver but had won four in a row prior to that. LaMelo Ball who is one of the leading candidates for Rookie of the year at this point in the year, will play a home game (of sorts) as he grew up just 39 miles from the Staples Center.  They are led in scoring by Gordon Hayward and Terry Rozier who are each averaging 20 ppg.
