NBA Best Bets – 5/8/23

Knicks @ Heat

The Heat will look to take a 3-1 series lead tonight at home. Jimmy Butler took over in Game 3 to secure his team’s first victory at home, and with one more to play at the Kaseya Center before going back on the road, the Heat can really deflate the Knicks’ hopes if they can win tonight.

New York has not been able to control the pace as well as they would like to, and with Miami’s shooting being as hot as it has been, the Knicks simply cannot keep up. Jimmy Butler is the difference maker in this series, and as long as he’s sharp, the Knicks stand little chance of coming back.

Jimmy Butler Over 28.5 Points (-105)
Julius Randle Over 9.5 Rebounds (+106)

If Jimmy Butler shows up as he has all playoffs, there is no way the Kicks will be able to fight back. He is lethal, and he is one of the best playoff performers of our generation. Bettors should be expecting a 2020 kind of run from the Heat.

Miami -4.5 (-110)

Warriors @ Lakers

Game four of this tremendous series is tonight, and as predicted by yours truly, the Lakers grabbed their first game at home. It was an ugly blowout, and it was exactly what bettors have come to expect from Golden State on the road. However, there is no chance these Warriors will return to San Fran trailing 1-3 in the series.

Golden State +3 (-110)

They should win outright, but with the moneyline only paying out (+125), bettors should take the insurance. This game shouldn’t be a blowout, so at the risk of the Warriors losing by a bucket, grabbing the 3 points is the smart way to go.

The Lakers have done a tremendous job of shutting down Stephen Curry. On top of that, LA made the proper adjustments going into Game 3 to limit Klay Thompson. Between the two Splash Brothers, they could only manage 38 points — they averaged 54 in the first round.

The Lakers will run the same game plan tonight, but one of them will cut loose and carry this team to victory.

Klay Thompson Over 4.5 Threes (+106)
