The Timberwolves head to Memphis for a playoff rematch. These teams haven’t seen each other since Memphis defeated them in six games in the first round of the playoffs.

Coming into play in this one, both teams are 4-8 against the spread, but Memphis has a better record straight up by three games.

The Timberwolves have been experiencing some growing pains since adding Rudy Gobert to the roster. Their core five has been terrible on the court, but we’ve seen this time and time again with super teams. It takes significant time for these guys to learn how to play together. Give them another ten games or so, and they’ll have it figured out.

Memphis is having a great season; their losses have come in unique ways. Boston edged them out on Monday by 3, they were blown out by Dallas early in the season, and they suffered back-to-back losses to Utah. It’s a long season, and losses happen, but Memphis has been strong to this point.

After that game against Boston, and San Antonio taking them to overtime, Memphis is sliding this week. Minnesota has lost five of their last six, with that one win coming against the Houston Rockets. However, playing at home, Memphis will make sure Minnesota’s woes continue.

Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Lakers

While the Kings are just 4-6, they are the second-best team in California, and they made a run at Golden State, losing by three on Monday. After that, they defeated a dangerous Cleveland team by seven on Wednesday.

This Sacramento team is not the walkover they once were, and they are trying to make some noise in the Western Conference. They are currently 11th in the West, and with the expanded playoff picture, bettors shouldn’t be surprised to see them in a play-in game this year.

The Lakers have now lost four in a row, coming off a thirteen-point L to the Clippers. Staying at home, they are hoping to get right, but the Kings will make that mighty difficult. The Lakers are the third-lowest-scoring team in the league, and the Kings are in the top ten.

It will be a close game, and it’s odd to see Sacramento as a favorite. However, the Lakers play great defense, so the under is the way to go.

Under 231.5 Points & De'Aaron Fox Over 25.5 Points (-111)
