The Chicago Bulls hit the midpoint of their three-game road trip today in North Carolina. After falling apart in Indiana on Tuesday, they will attempt a rebound tonight against the Hornets.

Charlotte was hoping their season would turn around with the return of LaMelo Ball, but the majority of their wins have come without him. The Hornets are 5-16 with LaMelo in the lineup and 8-20 without him. The Hornets have lost seven of their last ten and have only covered the spread in the wins and in one of those losses.

However, Chicago is a weak team and have a history of struggling with large spreads.

After being a top team in the East last year, they have yet to be able to put it together this season. The Bulls cling onto the final playoff slot, but the Raptors or Magic could take it from them if they don’t figure things out quickly.

The referee stat to know in this one, home teams are 30-20-3 at the spread when Josh Tiven is on the floor.

So keeping that stat in mind, with the inconsistent play of the Chicago Bulls, the Hornets should be able to cover.

Charlotte +8 (-110)

Knicks @ Celtics

The New York Knicks head to Boston after losing four of their last five. They have slipped in the standings but hope to find a footing tonight.

The Celtics are returning home after a terrible three-game road trip. They kicked it off with a win in Toronto but then suffered back-to-back losses in Florida. So they will also be looking to bounce back as they return to the Garden.

Boston is 18-5 at home but only 13-10 at the spared. Eight and a half may feel like a large spread, but they have blown out New York the last time two times they played them — 133-118 & 99-75. Plus, they will have the help of Brian Forte.

Brian Forte will be one of the referees in this one, and he has been kind to home teams this season. Home teams are 27-7 at the spread when he is on the floor. In addition to that, the other two zebras on the floor have a combined 40-27-3 record ATS for home teams.

Boston -8.5 (-110)
Jayson Tatum Over 31.5 Points (-102)
Jayson Tatum Over 8.5 Rebounds (+110)
