Let’s dive into the MLB DFS Daily Breakdown!  We have a 9 game slate, and there do not appear to be any weather concerns. At first glance, it looks like the Blue Jays will be the overwhelming chalk, facing Chris Ellis and the awful Baltimore bullpen. That game has a total of 9.5. The other two spots that will likely garner ownership are the Padres in Arizona to face Tyler GIlbert, and the Dodgers at home facing Drew Smyly. Those games have totals of 9. This will be a very interesting slate, as there are several high-priced pitchers in great spots. Problem is, the offenses we want are all expensive!

5 pitchers to consider on this slate:

  1. Luis Garcia – 9.2DK, 8.6FD. Garcia gets a matchup versus a Mariners team that has a 25% k rate versus right-handed pitching over the last 30 days.
  2. Zach Wheeler – 10DK, 10.6FD. Wheeler was in the CY Young race until a few starts ago. He gets to face a Nationals team that sold off their entire team at the trade deadline.
  3. Robbie Ray – 9.7DK, 10.9FD. Ray is coming off a 37 DK point performance versus a potent White Sox offense and now gets the hapless Orioles.
  4. Corbin Burnes – 10.2DK, 11.5FD. Corbin is arguably in the driver’s seat to win the CY Young award. While the matchup versus the Giants is a little daunting, he has dominated these matchups this season.
  5. German Marquez – 8.5DK, 9.1FD. German Marquez has the easiest matchup on the slate in a pitcher’s park. He has had a 25% k rate over the last month.

5 Stacks to consider on this slate:

  1. Toronto Blue Jays – Home matchup versus a right-handed pitcher and a BAD bullpen.
  2. Los Angeles Dodgers – Home matchup versus the below-average Drew Smyly.
  3. San Diego Padres – In Arizona to face the over-achieving Tyler Gilbert and the terrible Arizona bullpen.
  4. New York Yankees – Facing Jose Quintana for a couple of innings and then the mediocre Angels bullpen.
  5. Boston Red Sox – 2nd highest ISO in the league versus right-handed pitching over the last month.
