    Five Pitchers to Consider

  1. Luis Castillo, $10,200 (DK) @ LA Angels – Castillo has been rock solid over his last several starts and is coming off a dominant performance in Arizona. He allowed just 2 hits and no runs over 6 innings picking up the win. He has 27 strikeouts over his last 3 starts in only 19 innings. Nice matchup on the road here against an Angels team that strikes out 4th most in the league.
  2. Aaron Nola, $10,000 (DK) vs Kansas City – Nola has been pretty solid all year long but is coming off a rare rough outing in Pittsburgh. The Royals have won 6 games in a row but I’m looking for a big bounce back game here for Nola at home.  He has at least 6 strikeouts in 8 of his last 10 starts.
  3. Reid Detmers, $8,200 (DK) vs Seattle – There are a few nice options in the mid-range tonight and Detmers is one of them at home against Seattle. He has lost his last 2 starts against Toronto and Pittsburgh but the Angels offense managed just 1 total run in those starts. The Mariners remain a team we target for strikeouts as they rank 2nd last next to Minnesota.
  4. Jordan Montgomery, $8,100 (DK) vs Miami – Montgomery will make his Texas debut tonight in a great matchup against Miami. He was arguably the Cardinals best pitcher and now will join an already strong staff in Texas. He should get a big bump in offensive support from a strong Rangers lineup.
  5. Dean Kremer, $7,200 (DK) vs NY Mets – Love this spot for Kremer in Camden Yards against a struggling Mets team. After trading away Scherzer & Verlander at the deadline, the Mets went out and got swept the next series against the woeful Royals. Kremer has been up and down this year but if he can control his walks he should be in line for a solid game here.

    Five Stacks to Consider

  1. Boston Red Sox vs Alek Manoah (R) – The Red Sox check in as one of my favorite stacks here at home with a team total approaching 6 runs.  The get to face Alek Manoah who is making his 5th start since rejoining the team after getting sent down to the minors. Rafael Dever is way too cheap here at $5,100.
  2. Philadelphia Phillies vs Jordan Lyles (R) – The Phillies should be a popular stack tonight and with good reason. Jordan Lyles has been a gas can for most of the year coming in with a 2-12 record and having given up 8 earned runs over his last 2 starts. Love this entire lineup tonight for the Phillies at home.
  3. Milwaukee Brewers vs Quinn Priester (R) – This Brewers offense got going a little bit last night pounding out 16 hits and 14 runs against Mitch Keller. I think they carry that momentum over tonight against the starter Quinn Priester and an awful Pirates bullpen.
  4. Houston Astros @ Luis Severino (R) – The Houston offense was disappointing last night but should bounce back in a big way here against Luis Severino. Over his last 5 starts, Severino has given up a whopping 27 earned runs in just 21 innings of work. This could be the last start in the rotation before heading to the bullpen. Love the entire lineup here.
  5. St. Louis Cardinals vs Chris Flexen (R) – The Cardinals are a team I haven’t targeted much this year for a stack but tonight they get a great matchup against Chris Flexen at home. Outside of Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt this stack is very affordable throughout the lineup.
