Let’s dive into the MLB DFS Daily Breakdown!

Four Pitchers to Consider

1. Justin Verlander, $10,400 (DK) @ Cleveland – Verlander continued his push toward a third Cy Young Award when he dominated Seattle last time out. He limited the Mariners to just one earned run over 7 2/3 innings en route to his MLB-leading 14th win of the year. He draws a nice matchup here on the road against the Guardians.

2. Alek Manoah, $9,600 (DK) @ Minnesota – If not wanting to spend all the way up to get Verlander tonight, Alek Manoah would be my next guy in line. He is coming off a sub par outing last time out but should be able to bounce back here vs an inconsistent Minnesota offense.

3. Noah Syndergaard, $7,600 (DK) vs Washington – Syndergaard was dealt to the Phillies at the trade deadline and will get a tasty matchup in his first start with his new team. The Nationals traded away stars Juan Soto and Josh Bell making this lineup even worse than it already was. I think he can get us 20+ fantasy points tonight more than paying off this price tag.

4. Jose Quintana, $6,700 (DK) vs Chicago – Another pitcher dealt at the trade deadline was Jose Quintana. He goes from the last-place Pirates to the Cardinals who are battling for a playoff spot. This is just too cheap of a price tag in a nice matchup vs the Cubs at home.

Three Stacks to Consider

1. Houston Astros vs Zach Plesac (R) – Plesac has been a disaster his last five starts giving up 16 earned runs over just 24 innings of work. Yordan Alvarez will be one of my favorite plays on the board tonight. You can full stack this team from top to bottom. Newly acquired Trey Mancini homered yesterday in his first at bat with his new team.

2. Philadelphia Phillies vs Paolo Espino (R) – The Phillies offense is in a great spot tonight vs Espino and the awful Nationals bullpen. Over his last six starts Espino has given up a whopping 9 home runs and hasn’t made it our of the 5th inning in any of them. Kyle Schwarber is the only bat over $5,000 tonight. Sign me up here for a full stack!

3. Chicago White Sox vs Cole Ragans (L) – The Rangers have called up Cole Ragans to pitch tonight at home vs Chicago. The 24-year old former first-round pick in 2016 is coming off Tommy John surgery (2018-2020). The White Sox are expected to get a boost to their offense with the return of Luis Robert who was reinstated from the IL on Tuesday.
