Let’s dive into the MLB DFS Daily Breakdown!  We have a nice 9 game slate tonight! The only weather to worry about is in the OAK/NYY game, but I think it should be fine! There is no clear cut ACE on tonights slate, but there are quite a few mid range options.

5 pitchers to consider on this slate:

  1. Jordan Montgomery – 8.0DK – He has the highest projection on the slate here versus the dreadful Athletics. He is coming off a dud against the Rays, but I expect a bounceback here.
  2. George Kirby – 7.1DK – Another pristine matchup play here against the Orioles at home. The Orioles have struck out the 5th most versus RHP since 6/8 and have been a bottom 5 offense. Kirby has a 24% strikeout rate and a 3.35 SIERA on the season.
  3. Lucas Giolito – 8.3DK  – The results havent really been there for Giolito, but nothing under the hood looks alarming to me. He has a slate high 27% strikeout rate along with a 3.69 SIERA. He gets an Angels team that has struck out the most versus RHP since 6/8.
  4. Martin Perez – 8.9DK – Has simply been fantastic this season. He has 11 quality starts in his last 12 starts. He gets a KC team that hasnt been striking out a ton, but that ok, he isnt a strikeout pitcher. He gets a ton of groundballs. He has a 20% strikeout rate along with a 3.80 SIERA.
  5. Adam Wainwright – 7.6DK – Very nice matchup here for Waino against the Marlins who have struck out the 4th most versus RHP since 6/8. Waino has a 19% strikeout rate along with a 4.15 SIERA.

5 Stacks to consider on this slate:

  1. Los Angeles Dodgers – Massive 7.2 implied run total for the Dodgers in Coors tonight. They are traveling from Atlanta. Chad Kuhl has the 2nd highest SIERA on the slate. Lock and load here.
  2. New York Yankees  – Another massive total here at 5.6 in Yankee Stadium. I am a bit concerned about stacking against Blackburn whi has the 2nd highest GB rate on the slate.
  3. Toronto Blue Jays – Facing a Rookie pitcher here at home. Seabold threw 21 pitches on Friday, so he prolly wont go long here.
  4. MInnesota Twins – They just teed off on McKenzie last week scoring 6 runs on the Bombs. Can they do it again here? McKenzie leads the slate in launch angle and EV allowed.
  5. Texas Rangers – Kris Bubic has the highest expected ERA on the slate and it top 2 in EV and hard hit %.
