MLB DFS DAILY BREAKDOWN – 6/19/2023

We have a nice little 7 game main slate on tap for tonight! We need to watch the weather in the COL/CIN game, but otherwise the weather is fine tonight!!  Let’s dive into the MLB DFS Daily Breakdown!

3 Pitchers to consider on this slate:

  1. Hunter Brown – 10.2DK – Prolly comes in lower owned than 4 others on this slate. He has been awesome over the last month sporting the lowest xFIP on the slate at 2.58, 31% strikeout rate and a 7% walk rate. The Mets have struck out the 8th most versus righties over the last couple of weeks. Like him a lot here.
  2. Corbin Burnes – 10.0DK – Will be the highest owned pitcher on the slate tonight but for good reason. Over the last month, Burnes has a 3.49 xFIP, 28% strikeout rate and a 7% walk rate. It might be wise to go underweight on him in tournaments given how volatile pitching has been this season.
  3. Merrill Kelly – 9.6DK – This seems really expensive for Kelly but man has he been awesome this season. This is also an awesome Handedness matchup play. The Brewers have struck out the 3rd most versus righties over the last 2 weeks and been a bottom 5 offense.  Kelly has a 3.28 xFIP, 28% strikeout rate. He likely comes in lower owned than he should be here. I will be overweight.

3 Stacks to consider on this slate:

  1. Cincinnati Reds – The Reds get Austin Gomber in the Small park tonight. We need to watch the weather here, but man the spot is incredible. He has  been terrible to both sides of the plate so everyone is in play for me. McLain, India, De Le Cruz and Steer are my favs here.
  2. Colorado Rockies –  Williamson is just as bad as Gomber on the other side. He is allowing a massive 294 ISO and 371 WOBA versus righties over the last month, so they are the focus for me here.
  3. Texas Rangers – As of this writing we dont know for sure who is pitching for the White Sox, but DK has Schlotens penciled in. He is absolutely terrible and this is likely a bullpen game. I’ll keep playing the 2nd best offense in baseball here.
