Today’s Best NRFI

Los Angeles Dodgers @ New York Mets

Taking the mound in this one is Andrew Heaney for the Dodgers and Taijuan Walker for the Mets.

Taijuan Walker has been a standout for the Mets this season and one of the only consistent pieces in their pitching staff. Walker had one abysmal start against the Braves, but he’s allowed 14 runs in his last nine outings outside of that start.

Having played for the Diamondbacks, Walker has faced the Dodgers quite a few times. However, he’s been much strong facing the Dodgers since joining the Mets. As a Metropolitan, Walker has a WHIP of 1.13 and an ERA of 3.57 against the Dodgers. In addition to that, the NRFI is 3-0.

Andrew Heaney is having an interesting season. He’s been up and down due to a shoulder injury, but he’s looked great in every start he’s made in the show. In the month of August, he made five starts and allowed eight runs.

Heaney seems to have turned a new page since joining the Dodgers, pitching better than he ever has in his career. Given the depth of LA’s rotation, a NRFI comes down to the starter facing the Dodgers.

No Runs in the First Inning (-105)

Today’s Best YRFI

Colorado Rockies @ Atlanta Braves

Taking the mound in this one is Jose Urena for the Rockies and Max Fried for the Braves. With Max Fried on the mound, this may seem like a crazy game for the YRFI, but bettors are in for a big payout with this pick.

Max Fried is one of the best young pitchers in the game, and while he hasn’t allowed a run in the first inning in 14 consecutive starts, his team’s offense has ruined many a NRFIs.

Jose Urena is the man this pick is centered around. He has an obscene 6.35 ERA in his ten starts in Colorado; The YRFI has cashed in seven of Urena’s last nine starts. But, more important than those stats are his stats against the Braves; Urena is 2-9 with a 6.50 ERA vs. Atlanta. In addition, the YRFI has cashed in Urena’s last six starts against the Braves.

Yes, a Run in the First Inning (-110)

The NRFI adds a little insurance for bettors, but it’s Atlanta that is going to score in the first inning. So bettors that like to live on the edge can grab a line with a little more juice.
