MLB Best Bets – 6/13/23

Braves @ Tigers

The Braves blew the runline bet we had out on them yesterday, but we still went two for three in the game. With Spencer Strider on the mound today, we should have a few more easy bets before us.

Stider’s K prop has been my favorite bet this season. While the line has varied, and where you place the bet has affected if you cashed or not, at minimum, Strider has hit his prop in eight of the 13 games he’s started this season.

Facing the Tigers, his number is back up to (9.5). Morton was able to sit down eight yesterday, so there is no reason to think Strider can’t reach double-digits. This bet was far more fun at (8.5), but with the K-King on the mound, we shouldn’t worry about one extra strikeout.

FD: Spender Strider Over 9.5 Ks (+114)
MGM: Spender Strider Under 3.5 Hits Allowed (+120)
DK: Full Game - Atlanta -2 (-130)

Yankees @ Mets

We have a quick two-game Subway Series kicking off today, and both games should be fantastic. We have Severino facing Scherzer today and Cole going against Verlander tomorrow. Both New York clubs sit nine games out of first place in their respective division, so neither will settle for a split.

Severino is making his fifth start of the year, so per usual, the edge belongs to Max. Scherzer is coming off a 10 K performance in Atlanta, but he still allowed five runs in five and two-thirds inning in that game. It was an anomaly as over his last ten starts, he has had three shutouts and three one-run outings. He’s been doing great work for the Mets, but the Yankees can always create problems.

This will be a tight game, but given how both clubs have been playing of late, the smart money is on the Bronx Bombers.

FD: Max Scherzer 8+ Strikeouts (+128)
FD: Severino Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+126)
Yankees (+130)
