Mets @ Cubs

The New York Mets are making a move in the standings as they are now in second place in the National League East. They are still five and a half back of Atlanta, but there is a lot of baseball to be played.

Today, they will try to avoid a sweep at the Friendly Confines. They have veteran Carlos Carrasco on the bump, going against Kyle Hendricks, who is making his first start of the 2023 season.

Hendricks is the only player who remains in Chicago from the 2016 World Series team, and while he has been consistent for the Cubs, he has had more than a few injury stints.

The Cubs sit in the middle of the pack in the NL Central, and having Hendricks back in the lineup could go a long way to making a push into the playoff race. While there is no telling who kind of number Hendricks will be able to produce at this age, his props are low enough today, they are worth taking a gamble on.

A’s @ Mariners

The Mariners have continued their dominance against Oakland, and today they will try to finish a four-game sweep. They have taken nine of their last ten against the A’s, and betting against Oakland remains one of the best wagers in sports.

The Mariners hope this is the start of a strong run, but they know playing the Athletics doesn’t accurately represent the capabilities. After being the darling of the American League last season, they are fourth in the AL West, with only Oakland padding the bottom of the barrel for them.

While Seattle still has plenty of time to bounce back, being only six games back, they need to get to work. Hopefully, this series will be the jump-start they have been needing.

First Five: Over 4.5 Runs (+128)
Seattle -1.5 (-115)
